IAQ General Meeting in Chengdu, China 2026 (Day 2)

The IAQ General Meeting was held from 17^th to 20^th Sep 2026 in Chengdu, China. This year is the 60^th anniversary of International Academy for Quality (IAQ). The IAQ session was held in ANQ Congress 2026 on 17^th Sep 2026. The 1^st day of IAQ General Meeting was IAQ-CAQ Top Executive Dialog session and technical visit on 18^th Sep 2026. The 2^nd day of IAQ General Meeting was presentation from IAQ committees and think tanks as well as new member presentation on 19^th Sep 2026. In Day 2 morning, we had breakfast and met Acn. Prof. Fugee Tsung and Ms. Flora. 

Also met Acn. Janak Mehta.

We then met Singapore team included Mr. Tan Swan San. Johnson (陳川昌), Mr. Tu Jianyu (涂建宇), Mr. Cheung Kah Leong (張家樑) and Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢).

When I arrived the venue, I took a photo with Acn. Dr. Dag Kroslid and Acn. Dr. Catherine Chan in front of banner of the 60^th IAQ anniversary celebration.

In the beginning, Acn. Raúl Molteni gave opening speech and discussed the inspiring the Future in IAQ.

Many academicians attended online included Prof. Kano.

Then Raúl reviewed the meeting agenda.

He introduced strategic that IAQ leading the discussion about the future of quality.

Then the first speaker was Acn. Nancy Nouaimeh who gave a new member presentation and her topic named “Quality is never an accident; it is the result of intelligent effort.”

The second speaker was Acn. Jarrett Perlow and his topic entitled “Quality in the Courts”. It is my first time know how lawyer employed quality principle in their field.

After that Acn. Edwin Garro gave Think Tank update and topic was “Quality in Develop Countries”. 

He introduced the LIFT platform stands for Listen, Integrate, Facilitate and Transform.

And then Acn. J. Ravikant introduced the new Think Tank named “Quality, Digitalisation and AI” (QiDAiTT).

Finally Acn. Raúl Molteni (Immediate Past President, IAQ) and Acn. Sunil Sinha (President-elect, IAQ) presented IAQ pin to Acn. Dr. Zandra Meningas.

In afternoon session, Acn. Dr. Catherine Chan presented “A Framework of “USE” for QFD” on behalf of Voice of Customer Think Tank (VoCTT).

All academicians received Chengdu gifts.

Minda and I visited the Kuanzhaixiangzi Alleys (宽窄巷子) after the lunch.

We visited the old book shop.

Visited Chengdu Chocolate Museum and took a photo for memory.

Sanxingdui Chocolate (三星堆朱古力) was observed.

We took a photo under Kuan Alley (宽径)

Then we visited China Red, which is the general's home.

We saw many wood sculptures.

We also found Wuliangye Cultural Experience Hall (五糧液文化體驗館).

Very Spicy hot pot!

We saw many Sanxingdui (三星堆) decorations.

And then we visited Sanxingdui store.

Many interested products related to many Sanxingdui.

When we left, we met Dr. Pao Lin Jen (任寶玲) and Singapore team again.

We take subway to go to Global Center.

It was discovered that the subway handrails looked like panda heads!

Minda and I arrived Global Center and took a photo for memory.

Very big inside the center.

Our dinner was BBQ.

Very good food and service!

I ordered a big beer!

Fired beef!

On 20^th Sep, we went to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and back to Hong Kong.

We met Dr. Jane Wong and took a photo for memory. 

After we arrived in Hong Kong, we met Mehta, who was transferring to a flight to India.

It is a very good trip for both ANQ Congress 2026 and IAQ General Meeting with 60^th anniversary celebration.
