HKIE MIS Division Gala Dinner 2024

 Minda (Exco member of HKSQ) and I (Former Chairman of HKSQ) were honor to be invited by Dr. Aaron Tong (Former Chairman of HKSQ) to attend HKIE MIS Division Gala Dinner to celebrate TQM awarded HKIE Innovation Merit on 18^th Apr 2024.

HKSQ exco members celebrated to Dr. Aaron Tong’s achievement and took a photo for memory.

Long time no see Dr. Rita Wan, we had met in ISSC annual dinner every year before Covid. I also met two new friends in TQM table.

I also met HKSTP friends including Ms. Sheron Sit, Ir Sidney Wong, Dr. Ritz Lau, Dr. Vincent Fung and Ir Raymond Shan (HKPC). 

Then Dr. YC Chau and I took a photo with Prof. Benny Cheung and Dr. Ritz Lau. Dr. Chau and I had taught Master course under Benny in ISE Dept., PolyU.

We also met our master student Mr. Sunny Mak (APAC Operations Manager, pod group) under the course Management of Technology and Innovation, PolyU and got A grade!

I met Dr. SL Mak (VTC) and Dr. Fanny Tang (HKMU).

Dr. KS Chin and I met Dr. Wong Yiu Man (Past Chairman, Logistics & Transportation Division, HKIE).

In the beginning, Dr. Eric Liu (Chairman, MIS Division) gave opening speech.

Dr. GE Ming (Commissioner for Industry (Innovation & Technology)) was guest speaker and gave keynote speech that introduced the New Quality Productivity Force and future industry development in Hong Kong.

Afterwards, all HKIE Exco members and guests toasted to all attendees.

The music named “You Raise Me Up”.

Then I took a photo with Dr. WK Lo and asked him about New Quality Productivity Force. He said it included three key elements that are “Innovation”, “Quality” and “Sustainability”. It is very true that covered any product life cycle.

I also took a photo with Dr. Eric Liu.

I met Mr. Horace Leung who joined HKSTP in the industry development now and we knew each other when he served in HKPC for industry 4.0.

Then I met Ir. William Yim and he was very active in many different events and universities (including PolyU and CityU).

Ms. Swing Wong (Management Trainee, Towngas) is Dr. KS Chin and I student in SYE Dept, CityU.

CDM team (Dr. YC Chau, Dr. Vincent Fung and I) took a photo with Dr. Howard H.H. Cheung (HKU).

I met Dr. Jimmy Li (HKMU) and we also met in HKCTC events.

Finally, Dr. Eric Liu presented I HKIE Innovation Merit to Dr. Aaron Tong.

Dr. Aaron Tong presented his awarded project named “Apply -QA in Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator” 

The significant achievements obtained after six months implementation of -QA.

Finally, he shared six key tools named “Effect & Cause analysis”, “Fast Feedback, Fast Implement”, “HALT & HASS”, “Formation of Cross Corporation & Function Team”, “Supplier Management to be right rather than excellence” and “Optimize Product Design”.

Diagnosis system for Covid

Profit Royal Pharmaceutical Limited showed off their NASK diapers, very impressive!

Their product can purchase in HKTV Mail (www.nask.hk) 

There are five indicators for comparison and they are “First rate of absorbency”, “Second rate of absorbency”, “Anti-rewet”, “Anti-leakage” and “Skin calming”.

QP Group also employed AI system in their shopfloor.

Lastly, Dr. KW Lo went to the TQM table for a group photo. We had a lovely dinner together.

HKETA Annual Dinner 2024

Minda (Exco member of HKSQ) and I (Former Chairman of HKSQ) were honor to be invited by Dr. Aaron Tong (Former Chairman of HKSQ and Honorary Secretary of HKETA) and Dr. Pat Cheung to attend Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association (HKETA) Annual Dinner 2024 again after Covid period on 17 Jan 2024. 

In the entry of the restaurant, I met Dr. Vincent Fung, Dr. HL Yiu and Dr. Howard H.H. Cheung (HKU).

Ms. Angela Wong (Vice-Chairman, HKSQ) took a photo with us.

Then we took a group photo with TQM team. (Mr. Sam Kong in 2^nd row 2^nd right and Aaron’s son Mr. Jerry Tong in 1^st row 1^st right)

I am happy to see many friends in HKETA annual dinner in Science Park after Covid period.

HKSQ Seminar – Quality Considerations on Cell Banks

HKSQ and TQM organized seminar named “Quality Considerations on Cell Banks” on 8^th Dec 2023. CQI is supporting organization. Advanced therapy products (ATP), such as CAR-T and stem cells, provide an exciting new class of therapeutics. As the number of cell banks both in development and approved continue to increase, this seminar is a fantastic way to learn more about the quality considerations in the industry, and the means to control associated risks and to ensure safe cell sources, product quality and patient safety. Before the seminar, Ms. Minda Chiang and I took a photo in front of the presentation topic. 

Then we took a group photo with Dr. Jane Wong (Chairman, HKSQ) and Dr. Aaron Tong (Former Chairman, HKSQ).

I met Dr. David Ho (Laboratory Director, Celvita Cell Technology Company Ltd.) who knew this seminar was referred by Mr. Dominic Lam (CMA Testing).

Minda met her old colleagues Mr. Harry Yeung and Ms. Athena Chan. 

In the beginning, Minda briefed some glossary such as human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps). Then she said the seminar focused on four topics and they were operational flow & critical controls, QA, Challenges in Cell Banks and Enablers.

She firstly briefed the operation flow from donor recruitment to collection to manufacturing and then to transplantation.

And then Minda mentioned three critical control including Personnel, Process Control and Quality Control. During contact donor, we should welcome, appreciate and respect all people including sexual minorities. 

The second topic is QA. She introduced the most common accreditation programs in this industry including GMP, AABB, AATB, FACT, ISO 15189, ISO 20387 and CAP.

Three of accreditation programs (AABB, FACT & AATB) covered from Donor to manufacturing and then to the patient.

Finally, Minda shared some challenges in cell banks. They are regulations, infectious disease panels, experienced people, novel technologies, etc. Lastly, she introduced HKSQ as enabler to provide workshop on QMS in Cell Banks. 

During Q&A, we discussed different scenarios.
