Advanced Class for I Ching (易經高班) – Lecture 3

Minda and I joined Prof. Peng’s (彭泓基教授) advanced class for I Ching (易經高班) and the course has six lectures and performed biweekly. The Lecture 3 was held on 4th Nov 2023. This few days Minda and I was in Macao, so that we joined online course again. I also summarized the key concepts for sharing. 

In the beginning, Prof. Peng reviewed four difficult hexagrams and started from Trapped hexagrams (困卦) and then briefed “money divination” (金錢卦) and the Plum Bossom Changing Maths (梅花易數) again.

Then he showed a summary chart of 64 Gua that combined by upper Gua and lower Gua.

He firstly discussed the crisis thinking of I Tao (易道) and solution program. Then Prof. Peng explained the inspiration by I Ching foretelling from Heaven, Earth, and Man that related to cause and effect.

And then Prof. Peng demonstrated the “money divination” (金錢卦) and he gave three copper coins as gift for each onsite student so as to practice it.

The interpretation of money divination was showed and found which yau (爻) to be changed and becoming its’ Change Gua (變卦).

Some examples were discussed.

The Plum Bossom Changing Maths (梅花易數) was reviewed again for some students missing the immediate course.

He took Tun Gua as an example and observe how many possible variations there are.

Finally, Prof. Peng introduced the crisis awareness of I Tao (易道) and its solution program. 

Lastly, he proposed to use revolution hexagrams (革卦) for change management.

Before the end of class, Prof. Peng asked me to come back in next course for assisting the zoom meeting.
