SGS ISO/IEC 17025 LMS Internal Auditor Training 2025

 I was the trainer for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System (LMS) Internal Auditor Training Course by SGS and performed the course on 24^th & 25^th Jul 2025. During the training course, I briefed the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and HOKLAS requirements, as well as, audit planning, checklist establishment, role play and CAR issues.

After participant finished all their tasks including audit plan, audit scope & objective, audit findings and audit report, as well as, CAR issued.  We took a group photo for memory.

ABCT Guest Talk for “Introduction of HKQF & Experience Sharing”

I was honor to be invited by Dr. Joe KH. Lam and Dr. Gary Tang to introduce the HKQF and share my industry experience to the student in BSc (Hon) in Analytical Sciences for Testing and Certification under the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology (ABCT), PolyU on 27^th Mar 2024. In the beginning, we took a photo for memory.

Before the talk, I surveyed students’ expected career.

Then I started my talk to introduce Qualifications Framework in Hong Kong.

The key element is the QF level from level 1 to level 7 which connected vocational & continuing education with academic level.

And then the TIC industry career pathway was mentioned.

After that I shared my career with the title “Connecting the Dots”.

My sharing separated into four dimensions including academic, business, community and government.

Finally, I demonstrated my dots which all connected to my study in universities.

Lastly, I shared what I had been done in Science Park for different accreditations and methods development.

For example, SEM for measuring metallic coating thickness.

As well as SAM for moisture/ reflow sensitivity test.

At the end, I survey students again and most students would like to be Dr. Gary Tang!

SGS ISO/IEC 17025 LMS Internal Auditor Training 2023

I was the instructor for training ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System (LMS) Internal Auditor Training Course on 12^th & 13^th Oct 2023 after Covid period. I took a group photo with attendees.  

During the training course, I briefed the new and major changes of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and HOKLAS requirements, as well as, audit planning, checklist establishment, role play and CAR issues.  Since it is a workshop, many exercises for participant practice and they need to present their finding during the mock audit.

Then they had presented their audit plan, audit scope & objective, audit findings and audit report to demonstrate their learning achievement. 

Lastly, they need to prepare CAR and role play to find out the root course and draft the corrective actions.

SGS ISO/IEC 17025 LMS Internal Auditor Training 2022

I was the instructor to train the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System (LMS) Internal Auditor Training Course on 10^th & 12^th Jan 2022. Since SGS is HKSQ corporate member, we had cooperated for long time in different events.  

During the training course, I briefed the new and major changes of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and HOKLAS requirements, as well as, audit characteristic and competence.  Since it is a workshop, many exercises for participant practice.

One of them is used cards to construct audit process.

Each participant need to present their finding during the mock audit.

After during simulation audit case, they had presented their audit plan, audit scope & objective, audit findings, CAR and audit report to demonstrate their learning achievement. After that we took a photo with their work for memory.

SGS EPD Project – IA Practice

I was honor to be quality specialist for EPD Project invited by SGS and performed Internal Audit practice after online training on 25^th Aug 2021. I took a photo in front of the laboratory.

SGS team members included Mr. Billy Cheng, Mr. Thomas Ma, Ms. Crystal Wan and I took a photo for memory.

HKTIC Seminar on ISO 17025 Revision

The Seminar on ISO 17025 Revision was organized by the Hong Kong Association or Testing, Inspection and Certification (HKTIC) on 14 Jun 2017. The seminar aims to share the last review of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 in 2010 and some key changes in ISO/IEC DIS 17025 in this year.  Before the seminar, I took a photo with speaker Dr. John Ho.

I met Mr. SL Mak (OUHK) and also took a photo for memory.

In the beginning, Mr. K.L. Tsang (HKTIC representative) gave an opening speech and introduced the speaker Dr. John Ho.

CEPREI ISO 17025 and CNAS-CL01 Training Course

I was invited to attend the Laboratory Quality Management In-house training which organized by CEPREI on 10 December 2010.

CEPREI Calibration and Testing Center, which belongs to China Electronic Product Reliability and Environmental Testing Research Institute (CEPREI) [工業和信息化部電子第五研究所 (即中國賽寶實驗室)], is an authorized and accredited organization providing series of technology services such as calibration, testing, repair.

The activities of the center complied with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 (& CNAS-CL01) which accredited by CNAS.


The speaker for this training was Mr. Wang Tao (Officer) [王韜–王主任] and he introduced the training content included ISO 17025 standard requirement, laboratory documentation, internal audit, management review, proficiency test and statistical method for quality control.

The different responsibility of Internal Auditor and Reviewer was showed.


After went through the managerial requirement of ISO 17025, he started to brief the technical requirements. The first item to be discussed was staff’s competence which included knowledge, skill and experience.


Then the traceability of CEPREI diagram was demonstrated and explained.


After lunch, we discussed some items before started the training.


The statistical process control methodologies were briefed for internal quality control.


Different distributions were introduced.


Control Chart and Range Chart needed to search table.



Different Inter-laboratory comparison evaluation methods were mentioned.


Finally CNAS rules of Proficiency Test were introduced.
