Life Experience: Martial Arts, Qigong and Health Preservation (易學及道化講座: 生命的體驗-武術氣功與養生)

Prof. Pang’s (彭泓基教授) I Ching and Dao Seminar named “Life Experience: Martial Arts, Qigong and Health Preservation” (學及道化講座: 生命的體驗-武術氣功與養生) was held on 15^th Nov 2024 in Hong Kong Central Library. I Ching classmates were attended this seminar and we took a group photo in the break time for memory. I would like to summarize the content below. 

Before seminar, Minda and Kinsen had dinner with So Easy and then went to the venue together.

Minda also invited her friend Ms. Huang and Margaret to attend the seminar and they took a photo with Prof. Pang before the seminar.

I taught afternoon class at PolyU and then took the bus and tram to the Central Library.

In the beginning, Prof. Pang introduced the topics about Martial Arts, Qigong and Health Preservation.

I took a photo with Minda, Ms. Huang and Margaret when I arrived. Our Tai Chi classmate Partick was sitting behind Minda.

And then I also took a photo with Mr. Andy Law and Mrs. Law and all senior Tai Chi classmates.

Prof. Pang then introduced the Qi included Nature Qi and Nurture Qi (先天氣和後天氣).

Then he said the most important is inner peace.

And then Prof. Pang explained what is happiness (幸福) that is nothing in mind and health in body (心中無事是幸，身上無病是福)。

Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism (儒家、道家、佛教) had common moral goal.

After that he said everything come from Dao.

Yin Yang and Five Elements (陰陽五行) in human body were introduced

Human body meridians (人體經絡) were also discussed.

Finally, he briefed the Qigong.

Then Prof. Pang invited one of I Ching classmate Mr. Chan to share his experience on spontaneous power (自發功). He practiced for 40 years.

Lastly, Prof. Pang introduced Huashan Qigong (華山氣功) in different levels.

And linked up with life cycle.

Prof. Pang said the right method is most important in “法財侶地” indicating Right Method, Sufficient Money, Good Friends and Platform/Place.

Then he demonstrated “Hitting a cow through a mountain” (隔山打牛) your power has been transferred through the body of the person to the last person.

Before the end of seminar, sponsor provided two diabetes index watches and Mr. Shi (史師傅) got one.

Another one donated to Mr. Wong (Vice Chairman, Hong Kong Taoist Association - 香港道教聯合會副主席黃成益) who said he would give it to the Hong Kong Taoist Association to see who is in need.

At the end, presentation of appreciated certificates to speaker and sponsor.
