Intermediate Class for I Ching (易經中班) – Lecture 2

Prof. Peng’s (彭泓基教授) Intermediate class for I Ching (易經中班) Lecture 2 was held on 10^th Jun 2023. The course has six lectures from 3^rd Jun to 15^th Jul 2023. I would like to summarize some key points of the lecture below. In the beginning, Prof. Peng introduced two books which he studied before. 

Then Prof. Peng briefed the I Dao (易道) in which almost covered all ancient Chinese philosophies including Confucianism (儒家)、Taoism (道家)、Legalism (法家)、Mohism (墨家)、Military Strategist (兵家) and Political Strategist (縱橫家).

And the he mentioned the wave theory (波浪理論) to explain life and living matters.

After that he introduced his research that he established systematic framework for I Ching and Confucianism from humanity (仁). 

Prof. Peng also explained how Five Virtues overcome Five Poisons.

The "Five Virtues" are benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and faith. (「五德」是仁、義、禮、智、信。)

The "Five Poisons" are greed, hatred, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt. (「五毒」是貪、嗔、癡、慢、疑。)

Finally, he briefed I Dao (易道) - harmony between man and nature (天人合一). Where Nature Dao (天道) related to system, leadership, organization and decision; Man Dao (人道) related to human resource coordination, understanding and control. 

He also explained the I Ching management system (周易管理系統).

China style management was introduced by Prof. Peng in which employed many ancient Chinese philosophies.

Lastly, Prof. Peng explained the application of Chinese wisdom and I Ching management. He compared with Western management that they only focused on doing but without self-cultivation.
