Industrial Lunch in PolyU (SAE friends) after the AI seminar

On 25^th Sep 2026, Dr. YC Chau and Dr. Luk Chi Fai come to PolyU for attending the seminar named “Dassault Systèmes Strategy in the Era of Industrial AI”. We met Mr. Eddie Hui (IT emaos) and took a photo in front of seminar hall for memory.

Then they entered the hall for the seminar and I led students to visit STEM Education company for capstone project this morning. YC took some photos for sharing the insight of the seminar.

Dr. Nicolas Jeannee (VP, 3DEXPERIENCE Edu, Dassault Systèmes) was the guest speaker.

He introduced Physic AI in Factory and Experience.

Industry world models using virtual twins were introduced.

After the seminar and I finished the company visit, we had lunch in PolyU.

Visit to i3D Printer HK for COMP Student's Capstone Project 2026

I am honor to invit Mr. Henry Lee as our capstone project industrial advisor and I led my students to visit his company for STEM education related capstone project on 25^th Sep 2026. The project name is “LKH5: Website based online creative platform of Extenics named METS Platform”. Since 1983, Prof. Cai Wen has developed "Extenics," a foundational AI theory from China. The project aims to transform the Extension Innovation Method (METS) into an engaging educational tool, so as to create an online game / creative platform called "METS Platform." We took a photo in the company for memory.

Henry introduced his company and different services about STEM education they provided.

We took a photo with company most updated 3D printer for STEM education use.

And then Henry introduced different application environment for STEM education such as monitoring animal environment using AI and IoT. 

Finally, he introduced their different version of 3D printer.

Visit to HKPMAC for COMP Student's Capstone Project 2026

On 23^rd Sep 2026 afternoon, I lead my students Ms. Iris Lau, Mr. Marco Wong and Ms. Fiona Tam to visit the Hong Kong Precious Metals Assay Centre (HKPMAC) under Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX). It is the first capstone project named “LKH1: Development of Laboratory Information System (LIMS) for operation performance enhancement” since 2025. The project aims to design and implement online ERP system to replace the existing excel based system for laboratory operation. We arrived in the Hong Kong Gold Exchange and took a photo. 

And then Dr. Kathy Fu (Lab Manager, HKPMAC) led us to visit the laboratory.

She explained the daily operation of laboratory and we need to register before access.

Different instruments are introduced such as X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy.

After that Dr. Kathy Fu introduced their data and customer recording excel-based systems and problems to students. It is an important kick-off meeting for this capstone project.

Visit to Material Tech for COMP Student's Capstone Project 2026

I lead my students Ms. Hui Yung Ki, Mr. CHAN Ying Wai and Mr. CHAN Chun Kit to visit the Material Tech on 23^rd Sep 2026. It is continued capstone project named “LKH2: Robot Arm Control System for Concrete Cube Handling”. The project aims to design and enhance the robotic arm to handing concrete sample for different measurement. We waited in the Tin Shui Wai Station in the morning and then took a taxi to go to the laboratory. 

We arrived the Material Tech and took a photo for memory.

Mr. Herman Tang (Assistant General Manager) explained their new project to my students.

Then I met Mr. Kwong Lap Kong who is partner of Mr. Felix Chan (Managing Director, Material Tech).

Herman then explained and demonstrated different testing operations to my students.

He also showed the sample with QR code and RFID tap.

Then they took a photo in front of the testing concrete samples.

Another laboratory for power test.

Finally, we took a group photo in front of the laboratory entry before left.

CMS1000 Guest Talk – STEM Education Business

I was honor to invite Mr. Henry Lee (Founder, JobMatriz & Idea Maker HK (i3D Printer HK)) to give a talk for the 1^st year students in the course CMS1000 - Computer and Mathematical Sciences Professionals in Society under Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS) on 22^nd Sep 2026. The objectives of CMS1000 are to introduce students to variety of professions, enthuse students about their major study and engage students in desirable forms of university learning. It is the 3^rd lecture that my guest’s topic named “STEM Education Business – From Engineer to EduTech Entrepreneur”. 

In the beginning, Mr. Henry Lee gave self-introduction about his background including engineer and entrepreneur in electronic industries and EdTech. 

Then he briefed the STEAM that is not just a curriculum but a mindset for innovation and problem solving.

And then he introduced his career journey from engineer to business owner. We had both serviced in EPA Center in CityU long time ago!

After that he mentioned why he need to search new technology (3D printing) for fasting prototyping solution.

Finally, he stated his STEM Map and most involved problem solving and train the trainer.

Henry formed startup from zero to one through design thinking, TRIZ and 3D printing.

Because of handling different teachers and classes, his team developed JobMatriz and it employed for study, part-time job and other social activities.

STEM means to Henry like Kung Fu (功夫) and everyone has unique skill.

Lastly, he briefed his STEAM to Professional. For his business, Henry remembered his TRIZ teacher Dr. Micheal Li said “Easy but hard to copy!”

At the end, Dr. Adam Leung, Dr. Ryo Liao and I represented FCMS to present certificate and souvenir to guest speakers.

CMS1000 Guest Talk – Software Engineering and Applications

I was honor to invite Ir Matthew Tsui (Founder of App2One Limited) to give a talk for the 1^st year students in the course CMS1000 - Computer and Mathematical Sciences Professionals in Society under Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS) on 8^th Sep 2026. The objectives of CMS1000 are to introduce students to variety of professions, enthuse students about their major study and engage students in desirable forms of university learning. It is the 1^st lecture that my guest’s named “Software Engineering and Applications”. 

In the beginning, Ir Matthew Tsui gave self-introduction about his different roles including engineer, teacher and entrepreneur.

Then he introduced different concepts on development, engineering, programming as well as product team, etc.

After that he briefed the Waterfall vs Agile, Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

Finally, he discussed the AI revolution and concluded “One hero is development. A team is engineering.”, “One person cannot win a hourse.”, and “Idea. Objective. Value.”

The last part was presented by his company’s intern Ms. Faria. She introduced her product named “TelePotter” which is an immersive VR learning application. 

She pointed out the pain point of teachers such as passive 2D learning, VR takes forever to build and Non-tech teachers locked out. Finally, she proposed a solution for any teacher and anywhere using AI that upload what your already have and AI builds the world fast, so that students explore by doing. She analyzed that product should win the other competitors. 

Finally, Dr. Ryo Liao, Dr. Adam Leung and I represented FCMS to present certificate and souvenir to guest speakers.

Visit to ALTAI for starting COMP Student's Capstone Project 2026

I lead my students Mr. KWOK Chi Hei, Henry and Mr. LEUNG Chung Pang, Jasper to visit the (ALTAI) on 8^th Sep 2026. It is a new capstone project named “Design and Development of AI-Driven Log Investigation System Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation and Large Language Models”. The project aims to design and implement a log analysis tool that combines Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and LLM Fine-tuning to automatically analyze raw logs and reconstruct incidents in a structured, traceable manner. We appreciated Mr. Ken Leung (CEO, ALTAI) and Mr. Jason Leung (CTO, ALTAI) who support the student project in Department of Computing, PolyU. We took a group photo for memory.

In the beginning, Mr. Ken Leung introduced the background of ALTAI.

They provided reliable connectivity for different clients.

Finally, he briefed overall end-to-end solution in their super WiFi service.

After that Mr. Jason Leung and Mr. Sharmus Chu introduced their log systems and problems to students. It is a very good kick-off meeting for this capstone project.

Finally, Dr. YC Chau and I had tea in PolyU before my class COMP1000 at night.
