Lunch with Former HKSQ chairmen and exco members in PolyU 2025

Mr. CP Chow, Mr. Karson Chui, Mr. SW Lam and Dr. Albert Tsang had lunch with me in PolyU on 26^th Aug 2025. After that SW would back to USA. We had long time no see and took a photo for memory. 

Then CP asked me to take another photo with his iPhone, and he used AI to remove the other people in the background.

Seafood Lunch to Celebrate the Achievement of Professional Title (職稱)

 Dr. YC Chau invited five HKIE members who achieved the professional title of “Professorate Senior Engineer” (正高級工程師) and “Senior Engineer” (高級工程師) to go to Shekou (蛇口) to have seafood lunch for celebration. Ir Lam Tat Ming, Ir Cheung Wai Keung, Ir Dr. YC Chau, Ir Dr. Vincent Fung and I took a group photo in Tin Shing Court and then took a bus. Ir Dr. Jackson Tang arrived the Shenzhen Bay Port first to wait us.

Then we arrived the Shekou market.

We walked around the seafood market and seeking good seafood. Compared with HK, the prices were found very economic!

We then bought fish, shrimp, crab and oysters, as well as, sea snails (花螺). Very large fish costed ~RMB160 and oysters cost ~RMB10 per each.

After that YC introduced us to Tin HK Cuisine (田記) for cooking our seafoods.

We had a very good seafoods and only cost RMB211 per head (including seafoods and cooking fee).

After that we went to the new shopping mall named “K11”.

The view outside is very nice.

There is a cat pet service art center.

Children can play with cats that cost RMB168 per head!

And then we went to the rooftop jogging trail.

There are circular sculptures on the roof.

Finally, we went to the Sea World.

Lastly, we had coffee and tea in outside of MacDonald.

We all had a great time on our trip to Shekou today.

Lunch with old colleagues of HKSTP

Dr. HL Yiu invited me to have lunch with Ms. Tinny Lui on 31^st July 2025. We selected the restaurant named “PENTOLA” in Tai Po. During the lunch, we took a photo for memory. 

I arrived early and took a photo of the sculpture and the restaurant’s brand.

HL introduced some good foods to us.

The location of “PENTOLA” is in Tai Po Arts Centre (TPAC). Retrofitted from the former Tai Po Government Secondary School, TPAC is a project under the Signature Project Scheme (SPS) proposed by Tai Po District Council to the Government.

Lunch with Prof. Philip Chan for ANQ Congress 2025

 I was honor to be invited by Prof. Philip Chan (Founding President, IPostdocA) to have lunch with his postdoc students Dr. Wilson Lam on 30th July 2025. We celebrated for our successful evaluation of Mainland Professional Title through HKIE. For ANQ issue, there is no postdoc candidate to join the coming ANQ Congress 2025 in India.  Afterwards, we took photos with their personal stamps for memory.

Prof. Philip Chan and Dr. Wilson Lam both were selected in the book “The Power of Role Models: Top 100 Outstanding Chinese in the New Era” (楷模的力量 新時代百大杰出華人) and then issued their personal stamps as follows.

I hope that more Postdocs graduates trained by Prof. Chan will be able to share their research results with quality experts from around the world at the upcoming ANQ Congress.

Lotto’s Birthday Ceremony and Mainland Trips

I had the pleasure of celebrating my 55th birthday early last Sunday with Minda and friends.

Minda and I had been invited by Raymond’s family to visit Shenzhen and we went to the Gangxia North Station (Shenzhen Eye) (崗廈北地鐵站的「深圳之眼」).

In the evening, we had a buffet with Raymond Chan, Quinnie Yip, Karson Chan and Kai Wai Chan at the Sheraton Hotel. 

On 7 Jul, Raymond Pang, Jeff Tang and I celebrate Kevin Yuen last day for his teaching role.

Today, I am happy to have lunch with Walter Fung and SC Ho. Dr. SC Ho will leave PolyU in Aug 2025.

Afternoon, I had tea with Raymond and Jeff. There are happy days with all my friends.

From 31 May to 5 Jun, we travelled to Shanghai with Raymond Chan and Quinnie Yip. We tried the good foods (上海裕興記蟹黃面). 

They employed digital delivery system.

We took a photo for memory.

We also tried lamb kebab (羊肉串)! Good and happy memory!

Raymond and Quinnie's son MSc graduation ceremony

 Today (30th Mar 2025) is the graduation ceremony for our friends Raymond and Quinnie’s son, Karson Chan, who received his Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Minda and I attended the ceremony and took photos to commemorate it.

Minda joined inside the hall and took a photo during the ceremony.

Then I assisted to take Raymond family photo. Karson & Ka Wai are twins.

After that we took photos around the campus.

Then we went to the lotus pond and saw the sculpture of Sun Yat-sen

After the ceremony, we had lunch in The WestWood.

Industrial Meeting and Lunch in PolyU

Dr. Luk Chi Fai invited me to join their regular industrial meeting and lunch in PolyU on 29^th Mar 2025. We arrived the entry of PolyU.

Today is also Biomedical Engineering Day. The event included award presentation, announcement of BME Entrepreneurs Club and entrepreneur talks.

Then we had lunch in PolyU Chinese restaurant and discussed different topics related to AI. Dr. Luk’s friends recognized when they serviced in 3M (Nelson & James). Dr. YC Chau who was the first industrialist introduce i4.0 since 2015. Mr. Tang was expert in PCB industry. We took a photo for memory.
