Mr. Li Rong, Mickey and Mr. Li Zhiru (SZAQ & SICQ) visit PolyU

Mr. Li Rong, Mickey (李榕) (深圳市质量协会会长、深圳市品质消费研究院院长) and Mr. Li Zhiru (李智儒) (深圳市品质消费研究院、部长) (Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) and Shenzhen Institute of Consumption Quality (SICQ)) visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on 23^rd Oct 2024. Dr. Aaron Tong and I represented HKSQ to meet them and took a photo in front of PolyU. 

Then we visited PolyU Industrial Centre (IC) and my colleague Dr. SC Ho explained the smart home for elder to our guests.

After that we visited the AI and Robotic (AIR) laboratory.

The robot welcomes us using Mandarin.

We visited the drone racing area.

Finally, we visited was 3D Printing laboratory.

Before lunch, we visited Design School.

Then we had lunch in staff restaurant. We discussed the future cooperation with SICQ.

We met Prof. Winco Yung and took a photo for memory.

At the end, I led Mr. Li Rong, Mickey and Mr. Li Zhiru to visit our library.

The first GHM Bay Area Quality Forum 2017

I was honor to be invited to attend the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Quality Forum by Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) on 27^th September 2017.  The first GHM Bay Area Quality Forum organized by Federation of Shenzhen Industries, Hong Kong Federation of Industry, Macau Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), Shenzhen Quality Innovation Technology Alliance, Shenzhen High Performance Management Association, SZAQ and Shenzhen TV Financial Life Channel in Shenzhen Wuzhou Hotel.  The theme of Forum is “Quality Leading Integration & Development”.  In the beginning, Mr. Z.W. Wang (王肇文) (Counselor of the Guangdong Provincial, People’s Government Counselor) gave a welcome speech.

I took a photo with one of speakers from HK, Mr. Ren Yongquan (Senior Consultant & General Manager, Mainland, HKPC).

Then Ms. Liang Dan (梁丹) (Director of United Nations Maritime-Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance) gave guest speech.  She said GHM would be the new economic growth point.

Shenzhen Quality Consumption Festival & SZAQ 30th anniversary dinner

Dr. Aaron Tong, Dr. KS Chin, Dr. Ivan Ng and I were honor to be invited to attend the 30^th anniversary dinner by Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) on 24^th September 2017.  It was also the closing ceremony of Shenzhen Quality Consumption Festival 2017.

Before the ceremony dinner, we met many friends and took some photos for memory. Firstly, we met Dr. Lin Chang (Vice-chairman, Macau Quality Management Association (MQMA).

Then I met our members Mr. Simon Tong (He is also the chairman of ASQ LMC HK) and Ms. Phyllis Lee.

I also met Mr. Bryan Pang (Assistant Director, HKQAA).

Visit to Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) New Office 2017

Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) visited Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) new office (near 八卦岭MTR station) on 3^rd July 2017. Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) which was established in 1987 (where HKSQ established in 1986) and this year was SZAQ 30^th Anniversary.  SZAQ is the bridge between Government and Industries (with quality professionals) so as to enhance quality awareness, technology and continuous improvement. The previous visit was 3 years ago (2014).  We took a group photo in front of their brand for memory.

Visit to Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ)

Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) executive committee member visited Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) on 9th September 2014 (The day after Mid-Autumn Festival). We gathered in the Shenzhen Metro station.

We arrived the station named “Grand Theater” and walk to SZAQ office.

We observed the slogan for “Quality of Transportation”. However, the Chinese words “交通” means not only for “Transportation” but sometimes for “Communication”.

We arrived the building named Shenzhen Book City which SZAQ office was located here.

Firstly, Dr. Mickey Li (Chairman, SZAQ) welcome us to visit SZAQ and showed us their 25th anniversary video.

Then Mr. Peter Fung (Chairman, HKSQ) and Dr. Aaron Tong (Former chairman, HKSQ) gave a speech to introduce the Hong Kong Society for Quality.

After that Dr. Michey Li also introduced Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) which was established in 1987 (where HKSQ established in 1986). SZAQ is the bridge between Government and Industries (with quality professionals) so as to enhance quality awareness, technology and continuous improvement. The organization structure of SZAQ was shown as follow. SZAQ had mainly corporation members and their services mainly focused on training, QCC activities, 6 Sigma training, Quality Assessment, Publication of magazine named “Special Zone Quality”, as well as Quality Technology Award application and management.

Dr. Li was very interested in HKSQ Company based Student Project Competition and we shared our experience to them. Moreover, we would like to enhance our cross-activities exchange such as invitation SZAQ members to attend HKSQ seminars and visits in Hong Kong.

Before end of our cooperation idea exchange, Mr. Peter Fung (Chairman, HKSQ) presented our flag to Dr. Li.

We also took a group photos in the meeting room and in the main door.

SZAQ established the ASQ Local Member Community in Shenzhen, China.

We had lunch with Dr. Li in “Victory Restaurant” which was restaurant implemented 5S in Shenzhen.

The most famous meal was Special Fish Head. We ordered two dishes and both chairman performed cutting ceremony.

After lunch, Mr. Chow (Business manager, Victory Restaurant) introduced how they implemented 5S. The most important thing was “Insistent”. They insisted to inspect their own responsible area before and after meal in order to test and trace if any error happened.

Then Mr. Chow introduced their Victory 18 points as below.

The second part of visit was in Dafen Art Museum.

Then we went to OCT-LOFT (華僑城創意文化園).

Minda and I took a photo in front of Black and White sculpture.

We had dinner in Chalet BBQ (木屋燒烤).

Shenzhen Quality Annual Meeting and SZAQ 25th Anniversary Ceremony

Dr. Aaron Tong (Former Chairman of HKSQ) and I were invited to attend Shenzhen Quality Annual Meeting and the Shenzhen Association for Quality (SZAQ) 25th Anniversary Ceremony on 12 March 2013.

During the meeting, we met Mr. Lin Chang (Vice-Chairman, Macau Quality Management Association (MQMA)) and Dr. Mark MW Chan (Vice Chairman, Hong Kong Quality Management Association (HKQMA)).

In the beginning, we all stood up and the National anthem was performed.

Dr. Mickey Li (Chairman, SZAQ) gave a welcome speech and introduced SZAQ 25 years quality journey. He mentioned several focus points in SZAQ for future development as follows.
Close to member, Support by the Government; (貼近會員，背靠政府；)
People-oriented approach, Focus on Growth; (以人為本，關注成長；)
Open our mind, Provide Professional Service, (拓寬視野，專業服務；)
Effective Service, and Value-Creation. (有效服務，創造價值。)
At the end, Dr. Li briefed the establishment of the Public Quality Funds in Shenzhen (深圳質量公益基金) and its aims.

Then a video named "Quality Fly Song (質量飛歌)" was played to overview the activities of SZAQ in past 25 years.

After that Ms. Zhang Wen (Secretary - General, SZAQ) reported the activities in 2012 and financial status.

The first Top Ten Quality Leaders in Shenzhen election was introduced.

Dr. Aaron Tong (Former Chairman of HKSQ) and Dr. Gavin Chau (Chairman of HKQMA) both received "Quality Contribution Award".

Mr. Kwok (深圳市質量技術監督局副局長) gave a speech to encourage the development of quality in Shenzhen.
