I was honor to invite Mr. Henry
Lee (Founder, JobMatriz & Idea Maker HK (i3D Printer HK)) to give a
talk for the 1st year students in the course CMS1000 - Computer and
Mathematical Sciences Professionals in Society under Faculty of Computer and
Mathematical Sciences (FCMS) on 22nd Sep 2026. The objectives of
CMS1000 are to introduce students to variety of professions, enthuse students
about their major study and engage students in desirable forms of university
learning. It is the 3rd lecture that my guest’s topic named “STEM
Education Business – From Engineer to EduTech Entrepreneur”.
In the beginning, Mr. Henry Lee gave self-introduction
about his background including engineer and entrepreneur in electronic
industries and EdTech.
Then he briefed the STEAM that is not just a
curriculum but a mindset for innovation and problem solving.
And then he introduced his career journey from
engineer to business owner. We had both serviced in EPA Center in CityU long
time ago!
After that he mentioned why he need to search new
technology (3D printing) for fasting prototyping solution.
Finally, he stated his STEM Map and most involved
problem solving and train the trainer.
Henry formed startup from zero to one through design
thinking, TRIZ and 3D printing.
Because of handling different teachers and classes, his
team developed JobMatriz and it employed for study, part-time job and other social
activities.
STEM means to Henry like Kung Fu (功夫) and everyone has unique
skill.
Lastly, he briefed his STEAM to Professional. For his
business, Henry remembered his TRIZ teacher Dr. Micheal Li said “Easy but hard
to copy!”
At the end, Dr. Adam Leung, Dr. Ryo Liao and I
represented FCMS to present certificate and souvenir to guest speakers.
