IAQ General Meeting in Chengdu, China 2026 (Day 1)

The IAQ General Meeting was held from 17^th to 20^th Sep 2026 in Chengdu, China. This year is the 60^th anniversary of International Academy for Quality (IAQ). The IAQ session was held in ANQ Congress 2026 on 17^th Sep 2026. The 1^st day of IAQ General Meeting was IAQ-CAQ Top Executive Dialog session and technical visit on 18^th Sep 2026. The 2^nd day of IAQ General Meeting was presentation from IAQ committees and think tanks as well as new member presentation on 19^th Sep 2026. In Day 1, Minda and I arrived the venue.

In the beginning, Acn. Raúl Molteni (IAQ president) gave opening speech.

Dr. Duan Yonggang (段永剛) (CAQ) gave opening remarks.

All academicians are ready for the meeting.

Firstly, Acn. Raúl Molteni (IAQ president) introduced the history of IAQ that founded as a global quality body imitated by Val Feigenbaum, Kaoru Ishikawa and Walter E. Masing since 1966.

Then the IAQ-CAQ Top Executive Dialog session started. The first speaker was Acn. Dr. Dag Kroslid (CEO, NorDan Group).

The second speaker was Mr. Yang Jianbing and he introduced the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.

The third speaker was Ms. Jingfei Yu (Chief Quality Officer, Xiamen Guoyu Health Management Center).

The fourth speaker was Mr. Xu Haiewi (Deputy General Manager, Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd.).

After that we discussed onsite and online.

Metha gave some comments.

Finished the morning session, we were gathering in the hotel lobby and went to the lunch restaurant.

The Chinese restaurant named “Da Ronghe” (大蓉和).

I took a selfie with the members around the table.

After lunch, we visited the red tea shop.

We had a tea together.

Hong Kong team and Prof. Kazuyuki Suzuki (JSQC) together.

Ms. Wang Shengqi (王圣淇) and Ms. Tong Jing, Twinkle (童菁) (CAQ) joined us.

We joined the WuLingYe Band Mountain Group Quality Experts meeting.

Firstly, Mr. Zou Tao (Deputy Chairman and General Manager, WULIANGYE Group) gave welcome speech.

Ms. Yang Yunxia (楊韻霞) (Chief Engineer, WULIANGYE Group) gave a talk entitled “From a Single Seed to a Drop of Fine Liquor”.

I took a photo with Ms. Liu Zhuohui (CAQ) and Ms. Wang Lin (王琳). I met Ms. Liu in the 2^nd IAQ World Quality Forum 2017 in Bled, Slovenia. She played piano during the break!

Ms. Yang Yunxia gave us a moon cake because of coming Mid-Autumn Festival.

After technical visit, we went to the dinner venue. It named “WULIANGYE NIGHT”. We tasted different types and strengths of Chinese Liquor.

Then we took a group photo outside.

Before dinner, Dr. Duan Youggang (Executvie VP, CAQ) gave welcome remarks.

Liquor Master introduced different WULIANGYE to us.

Afterwards, Dr. Duan and Acn. Raúl Molteni cut a birthday cake to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the IAQ.
