The 11th World Summit for Chinese Quality 2026 – Day 1 (Part 2)

The 11th World Summit of Chinese Quality (全球華人品質峰會) was organized by World Alliance for Chinese Quality (pre-WACQ - 全球华人品质联盟（筹）) and Hosted by Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), The Department of Computing (COMP) from 6^th to 7^th Aug 2026. The theme was “AI for Quality (AI4Q): Leading the Future of Excellence”「 智臻品質，引领未来」. The summit was held onsite at PolyU in TU201, TU101 and TU103. The summit logo and background were designed by me (Lotto) using Chinese GenAI – Doubao (豆包). The proceedings contained all papers and schedule was installed in the HKSQ Summit USB souvenir. 

In afternoon session, Prof. PANG Wang Kee, Lawrence (彭泓基) (中華智慧管理學院) arrived and we took a photo for memory.

Dr. Jack Wu (Hang Seng University of Hong Kong) joined us.

In the beginning of the ceremony for “A Model for World Chinese Quality Culture Construction (Organization)” (全球華人品質文化建設典範), the chairman of evaluation committee Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢) gave opening remarks.

The first awarded organization is KODA Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Ms. Emily Goh (Associate Vice President) introduced their company.

She introduced KODA’s TQM and their Industry 4.0 smart factory. 

Finally, she concluded the continuous improvement through Production, Sales, People, Development, Financial, Information and ESG sustainability.

The second awarded organization is CMA Testing and Mr. Kent YAU (邱偉强) (COO) introduced the background of CMA and CMA Testing.

CMA Testing achieved many industrial and governmental recognition and accreditation.

Their services were not only for testing consumer products but also serviced to community in different aspects including COVID test and fire test for construction frames.

The last awarded organization was Hainan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (海南核電有限公司) and Mr. Li Zhenyun (李振云)（海南核电有限公司总经理）introduced their company online.

He briefed their Chinese characteristic management that made reference to Chinese medicine system thinking to develop their quality management model.

After presentation, Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢) presented the award plate and PolyU COMP souvenir to each awardee. The first one was KODA Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Dr. Chao-Hsiang Chen (陳兆祥) (President) received the award.

The second one was CMA Testing.

And then the session of HKSQ Student Project Competition (香港品質學會學生專案競賽2026-颁證儀式). Dr. Aaron Tong was the chairman of evaluation committee and presented the award of Technical Merit to the team from Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. Their project topic was “Coordinating Hong Kong Hospital Emergency Departments During Peak Periods”.

Then second team won the Implementation Excellence Award. The team was from HKU and their topic named “A Study of a Machine Learning-based Forecasting Approach for Planning HVAC Energy Consumption and Carbon Credits in Hong Kong”.

The third team won the Impact Excellence Award. The team member come from COMP, PolyU and his project topic entitled “AI-Powered System to Automate the Detection of Developmental Defects in Zebrafish Embryos”. 

The last team won the Innovation Excellence Award. They come from HKUST and their project topic named “Smart Code Revolution: AI-Powered Automation for Robotics and Intelligent System”. 

Before the tea break, we took a group photo with the summit volunteers to thank them for their help in making the summit run smoothly.

During the tea break, I took some photos to document their relaxing time.

Minda’s friend Ms. WANG Mei Yung, Sandy joined us to be helper for this summit.

Tea drinks include coffee, tea, orange juice, as well as cookies and sandwiches.

After that the next session was “Chinese Quality Culture Promoter” (全球華人品質文化推動者) awardee presentation. The first awardee was Mr. Zheng Fei (郑飞) (金徽酒股份有限公司副总裁、首席质量官、首席数字官、食品安全总监) and his topic named “Quality as Foundation: Building the Future Through Long-term Commitment”. (以品質鑄未來--做品質文化的長期主義者).

Mr. Zheng Fei introduced his company quality concepts and vision using Tao (道), Methodology (法) and Technique (術).

At the end, he expected to establish smart quality and platformization model under Chinese Culture.

The second awardee was Dr. Chien-Te Lee (李建德) (高雄市立鳳山醫院/長庚大學醫學院院長) and his presentation was “From Hospital to Community Susstainable Governance for an Inclusive City” (共融城市的堡壘 逢山醫院的永續治理之路).

Dr. Lee introduced his hospital sustainable development and management including energy, waste, etc.

Finally, he briefed the sustainable value in healthcare and introduced a triple bottle line framework to us. 

HKSQ nominated Prof. Pang Wang Kee, Lawrence (彭泓基) (中華智慧管理學院) to the “Chinese Quality Culture Promoter” (全球華人品質文化推動者). Minda and I took a photo with Prof. Pang.

Prof. Pang topic entitled “On the Quality Management of Chinese and Western Cultures” (論中西文化的品質管理). Firstly, he briefed the management concept that an inverse relationship between quality and entropy.

And then he explained what is management and defined as “Integrate resources to achieve the established goals”. He also compared the Chinese and Western Cultures in terms of quality. 

After that Prof. Pang introduced his developed management theory named Six Wisdoms Management (六慧管理). The course had taught in MBA course in different universities in Hong Kong.

Lastly, he used a sentence as conclusion that is “Striving for perfection” (止於至善).

The third awardee was M. Xu Yaqin (徐亞琴) (Chief Quality Officer (CQO) / Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and General Manager of Operations Supervision Center, ZTT Group) and her topic named “Zhongtian Technology (ZTT) Quality Management Model” (中天科技質量管理模式). (Online video)

She introduced their quality management model included equipment management system, whole life cycle management and intelligent management so as to achieve safety, effective, green and intelligent equipment management system.

After that Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢) presented the award plate to Ms. Yang Yunxia (楊韻霞) (五糧液總工程師、食品安全總監)

Finally, Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢) presented me with the award, the inaugural award for the Summit 2025 in Macao. However, Macao issued typhoon signal number 10 that afternoon, so I missed the award ceremony. Now it's time to present the award again.

Then Mr. Tan Gheng Een (陳敬賢), Prof. Pang Wang Kee, Lawrence (彭泓基) and I took a photo together to commemorate Hong Kong people receiving this award.

Lastly, all awardees took a group photo with award evaluation committee members.

The parallel sessions in afternoon were in TU101 and TU103.

Before I come back to main hall, I presented my paper entitled “Overcoming difficulties and obstacles - "Quality's resilience"” (困屯蹇坎-「品質抗逆力」). It is combined I Ching wisdoms and ISO management systems/guidelines to overcome the difficulties.

Firstly, I introduced I Ching’s Four Difficult Divinations and its stages phenomena.

Each divination may be transferred to different situations. 

After that I introduced ISO 22316 Security and resilience — Organizational resilience — Principles and attributes. 

Finally, I integrated the Business Model Canvas, ISO9001, ISO22301, ISO22316, and ISO 31000 together for developing Quality's Resilience Model.

Dr. Mandict Wong was the session chair and presented the speaker certificate to me.

The second speaker was Mr. Huang Jiaqi (黄嘉祺) and his topic was “Research on Football Club Brand Quality Management Model Based on Extension Innovation Methods – Construction and Application of the “BALL” Model” (基于可拓创新方法的足球俱乐部品牌质量管理模式研究 — “BALL”模型的构建与应用)

Then Dr. Mandict Wong presented the certificate to Mr. Huang.

Dr. SL Mak was the Summit Chair for Parallel Session I (AI4Q), but most speakers were online or via pre-recorded video.

When we back to main hall, Dr. Aaron Tong, Ms. Kelly Liu took a photo with Hang Seng University representative and volunteer. 

Then I reported the summary of the Summit. There are 98 participants and received 49 papers. The distribution was showed that AI4Q upto 31%, Quality Management Model and Innovation is 31% and other quality management excellence is 20%.

Flag handover ceremony. 

Dr. Jane Wong (HKSQ) handover the WACQ flag to Dr. Chuen-Sheng Cheng (鄭春生) (CSQ).

And then Dr. Chuen-Sheng Cheng (鄭春生) (CSQ) introduced the next summit held in Taiwan.

Ms. Tsai Yi Chun, Akilo (蔡宜均) (CSQ) briefed the temporary plan that the 12^th World Summit for Chinese Quality would be held in Semiconductor Industry Institute, Chung Yuan Christian University, in Aug 2027.

Technical visits would be in KODA Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and TSMC.

Lastly, we took a group photo to commemorate the summit, marking its successful conclusion.

SQI friends asked us to take a photo before left.

Dr. Mandict Wong and Mr. Ben Tsang led the participants to the restaurant for dinner.

Dr. Mandict Wong, Ms. Kelly Liu, Dr. Jack Wu and Mr. Ben Tsang arrived first. It had Mahjong (麻雀牌) for entertainment.

Dr. Jane Wong gave dinner opening speech.

Then Ms. Yang Yunxia (楊韻霞) (五糧液總工程師、食品安全總監) introduced the Wuliangye (五糧液) and sponsored two bottoms in each table. One is 39% and the other one is 52% of alcohol level!

I took a photo with Dr. Chao-Hsiang Chen (陳兆祥) (President, KODA Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.). Mr. Peter Suen (ACP Group) is our common friend and Dr. Chen invited us to go to his new factory in Taiwan.

It's time for the song and dance performance! Mr. Johnson Tan and Dr. Aaron Tong were the first partner to perform.

Ms. Pao Lin Jen (任寶玲)(THQA) and Dr. Aaron Tong sang a love song!
