The Annual Working Meeting of World Alliance of Chinese Quality 2023 (全球華人品質聯盟年度工作會議)

The annual working meeting of World Alliance of Chinese Quality (全球華人品質聯盟) was held on 15^th Mar 2023. The meeting was still held online but the pandemic would be finished soon. Representatives from Mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore were participated online.  Dr. KS Chin and I was held online meeting in CityU, Dr. Jane Wong and Dr. Aaron Tong in the office. We all represented HKSQ to attend the meeting and took a group photo for memory at the end of meeting.

In the beginning, Dr. Duan Yonggang (Chairman, WACQ; Vice-Chairman, CAQ) (段永剛博士 - 全球華人品質聯盟理事長、中國質量協會副會長兼秘書長) gave opening speech.  He summarized WACQ work in 2022 including the 7^th World Summit for Chinese Quality both online and onsite. He also reported CAQ was invited to participate a new economic model from EFQM. Dr. Duan also encouraged us to exchange Chinese culture with other culture not limited in quality but also Chinese culture area. Then he introduced the 8^th World Summit of Chinese Quality in Singapore in Sep 2023. Dr. Duan would lead CAQ to join the coming summit.

And then Ms. Wang Li-Lin (王麗林) confirmed WACQ members.

She followed the meeting agenda and confirmed the past meeting minutes.

And then Mr. Wang Lu (CAQ) (王璐先生 -中國質量協會總工程師兼卓越國際質量科學研究院副院長) reported ESG activities in past year including two ESG standards for industry. CAQ would develop certification scheme and award for ESG.

CSQ representative reported the 7^th World Summit for Chinese Quality in KinMen (金門) and showed a short video for memory.

After that Dr. KS Chin and I (HKSQ) reported HKSQ TID funded project named “Feasibility study on the quality of Hong Kong start-up development for supporting the sustainable business growth”. Dr. Chin said the project is just starting point to support start-up in Mainland China and Asia.

And then I briefed the project outcome “Practical Guidelines for Good Management Practices for Start-ups”.

Representative THQA shared last year activities related to medical and healthcare quality.

Finally, Mr. Johnson Tan (Chairman, SQI) shared SQI last year activities and expected to enhance the exchange with more participants after Covid. He then shared the program of 8^th World Summit for Chinese Quality (WSCQ).

SQI confirmed the theme named “ People-oriented, Keep up-to-date, Artificial Intelligence and Quality Assurance (以人為本, 與時俱進, 人工智能與品質保證)” and the summit planned to be held in Sep 2023.

The topics of call for paper includes AI on Manufacturing and Engineering QA, QC using Big Data Analytics, AI in Manufacturing Predictive Maintenance, … etc.

We are looking forward to meet all in the 8^th WSCQ.
