ESG Webinar – ChatGPT (A.I.) Creativity Workshop

The Executive Study Group (ESG) webinar named “ChatGPT (A.I.) Creativity Workshop” was held by Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy Limited (APIFS) on 10th Mar 2023.  Dr. Mark Lee firstly briefed the background, history, and goal of Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy Limited (APIFS). Then he introduced today’s content including ‘AI Index Report 2022’, ‘ChatGPT and its Alternative Copy.ai’, ‘Hands-on Experiment’, ‘Generative AI’ and ‘Political, Economic & Society Controversy’.


Firstly, Dr. Mark Lee briefed the AI Index Report 2022 by Stanford University. He observed that the newly funded AI companies number reduced from 2019 to 2021. It may because AI become mature and companies were consolidated. Language models are capable such as 280 billion parameter model in 2021. AI becomes more affordable and higher performance. The attention of AI ethics is increased.


Then he introduced how to access ChatGPT but it needs VPN and foreign mobile number. For iPhone, we could use POE. Another AI Chat named “Copy AI” at www.copy.ai could be used without location limitation. 


After that we tried AI application in different department such as Marketing, Sales, HR, Strategic Development, Finance and Accounting.


The first case use Coca Cola and we asked AI to create a new slogan for Coca Cola for the housewife customer group. CopyAI give slogan with explanation.


And then Poll 1 is how satisfaction participants think. Most of us choice “Satisfied” (62%).


The second case for Sales Department is to ask AI to create a ESG proposal for HSBC’s staff with less than 1-million-dollar budget and last for a year. Then the Poll 2 shows “Satisfied” (58%) less than previous one. The more complex question shows more difficult.


Finally, Dr. Lee briefed the technology architecture from AI to Generative AI to GPT and to Chat GPT. Where ChatGPT = Chat + GPT = Mouth and Ear + Brain. The full name of GPT is “Generative Pretrained Transformer” which is a kind of Generative AI. 


Polling 3 is about secondary schools allowing student to use ChatGPT. The survey results is event that 40% disagreed and 40% agreed, as well as, 20% is neutral. Some participants think it is good for secondary schools but another part of participants affect to limit student basic training.


Then a video about opinion by Singapore’s Minister for Education was showed. 

The last Poll 4 is about business impact and most of participants voted significant and very significant for coming 3 years in their business. 


Lastly, Dr. Mark Lee discussed Generative Design through the autodesk video named “The Future of Making Things”.
