The 11th World Summit for Chinese Quality 2026 – Day 1 (Part 1)

The 11th World Summit of Chinese Quality (全球華人品質峰會) was organized by World Alliance for Chinese Quality (pre-WACQ - 全球华人品质联盟（筹）) and Hosted by Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), The Department of Computing (COMP) from 6^th to 7^th Aug 2026. The theme was “AI for Quality (AI4Q): Leading the Future of Excellence”「 智臻品質，引领未来」. The summit was held onsite at PolyU in TU201, TU101 and TU103. HKSQ executive committee took a group photo for memory 

Minda and I arrived the summit venue and took a photo in front of the entry.

Then we took a photo with COMP department head Prof. Qi Ling and SQI, CSQ and THQA representatives.

I also met HKIE friends included Dr. YM Wong, Dr. Howard Cheung (HKU), Dr. YC Chau and Dr. SL Mak.

All HKIE members joined HKSQ chairman to take a photo for memory.

And then I took a photo with Dr. Oscar Chu (朱偉文) (MQMA) who is from the Macao Water Supply Company.

The summit started and our chairman Dr. Jane Wong (HKSQ) gave welcome speech in the beginning.

Then Mr. LI Gaoshuai (李高帅) (CAQ 副会长兼秘书长) gave opening speech.

And then Prof. Li Qing (李青) (Head, COMP, PolyU) delivered a welcome speech. 

He introduced the Department of Computing's development history and achievements over the past fifty years and wished the summit a complete success.

We took a group photo with all guests and participants.

Then I represented PolyU COMP to present souvenir to WACQ members. The first was HKSQ.

Then Dr. Jane Wong (HKSQ) and I (COMP) to present appreciation certificate and souvenir to CAQ representative Mr. Li Gaoshuai.

And then presented to Dr. Chuen-Sheng CHENG (CSQ)

Mr. Tan Swan San. Johnson (SQI) received certificate and souvenir.

After that Jane presented appreciation certificate to sponsor company and the first one is ATAL Engineering Ltd. Dr. Sammy Wan received the certificate.

Another sponsor was Intertek Testing Services HK Ltd.

Then Dr. Aaron Tong represented TQM Consultants Co., Ltd. to receive the certificate.

The first keynote speaker was Prof. LI Xingsen (李興森) (广东工业大学可拓学与创新方法研究所所长) and his topic entitled “Extension Intelligence and its Application in Quality Management” (可拓智能及其在品質管理上的應用). He introduced Extenics and how to solve the contradiction quality problem.

Then he introduced the founder of Extenics “Prof. Cai Wen” (Who passed away on 5^th Nov 2021). Prof. Cai Wen (蔡文) and Prof. Yang Chunyan (楊春燕) was invited as keynote speakers with the topic named “China Original Science Subject–Extenics” (中國原創的學科可拓學) in the 1st World Summit for Chinese Quality (第一屆全球華人品質峰會) in 2016.

Finally, he introduced a problem-solving strategy utilizing the double helix pattern of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

Dr. Percy Chan (陳志偉) (Quality Director, Group Quality Assurance, GPBI) was the second keynote speaker and his topic named “AI Application towards Quality 4.0 Direction” (GPBI 透過 AI 應用與強化的品質 4.0 卓越路徑).

In the beginning, he introduced their strategic vision on “AI for Quality” including four pillars and they were Governance, Prediction, Prevention and Decision.

Finally, Dr. Chan demonstrated some cases employed AI technologies including AI Vision Inspection, Predictive Quality Analytics, Knowledge Management AI, Supplier Quality AI and Management Dashboards.

The third keynote speaker was Ms. Yang Yunxia (楊韻霞) and her presentation named “Wuliangye's philosophy of quality: "From a seed to a drop of fine wine"” (「從一粒種子到一滴美酒」的五糧液和美品質之道). 

Firstly, she introduced the background of Wuliangye. And then introduced different technologies employed during the process of wine and their management principles employed such as EFQM model.

Lastly, she concluded that Wuliangye would always adhere to the harmonious quality philosophy that taking quality as its foundation, culture as its soul, innovation as its driving force, and responsibility as its guiding principle.

Mr. Tan Swan San. Johnson (陳川昌) was the fourth keynote speaker and his topic was “The integration of the ISO 9001 QMS and the ISO/IEC 42001 AIMS enhances the quality assurance of AI operational performance.” (ISO 9001 品質管理系統與 ISO/IEC 42001 人工智能管理系統的整合，以強化人工智能營運績效的品質保證。)

He introduced the concept of integration management system between ISO9001 and ISO/IEC42001. Combined different clauses of both standards and built up a close loop model.

Finally, he mainly focused on AI risk assessment and AI system impact assessment in practice use.

The fifth keynote speaker was Dr. Flora C.I. Chang (張家宜) (淡江大學) and her presentation title was “Witnessing Technology with Intelligence, Creating the Future with Quality” (以智臻見科技 用品質造未來).

In the beginning, Dr. Chang briefed their quality management and ESG and then mentioned the development history of intelligence sustainable innovation. 

At the end, she introduced the future study capabilities included Imagination (想像力), insight (洞悉力), foresight (前瞻力), collective intelligence (集智力) and consciousness (意識力). 

Dr. Oscar CHU (朱偉文) (The Macao Water Supply Company Limited) was the sixth keynote speaker and his presentation named “AI Empowers Water Supply Quality to Move towards the Excellence of Quality 4.0” (AI賦能引領供水水質邁向品質4.0的卓越之路)

He briefed the development of Macao Water and how their system to be Smart Water since 2019 that from standardization to automation to digitalization and then intelligence. 

Finally, he demonstrated how AI systems can reduce the dosage of drugs needed to maintain water quality, thereby saving significant amounts of money.

Dr. Wei-Chun HUANG (黃偉春) (臺灣醫療品質協會代表; 屏東基督教醫院副院長 / 心臟內科專科醫師) and his topic named “Heartbeat in the Cloud: How AI and IoT Become the Guardians of Your "Cyber Heart"?” (心跳雲端化：AI 與 IoT 如何成為你的「賽博心臟」守護神？) He firstly introduced Taiwan Healthcare Quality Association (THQA) history and then briefed different cases.

Some studies were showed us such as AI-ECG indicate the sign as alarm to us.

Lastly, he summarized that AI-ECG can assist but decrease the D2B time and ECG-to-balloon time.

The last speaker was Mr. William Lee (李兆新) (Intertek) and his presentation topic was “AI-powered Glasses: a new "Mirror World" of Security that blends the Virtual and Real Worlds.” (人工智能眼鏡，虛實融合安全法則新「鏡界」)

He reviewed the history of the glass’s development.

Finally, he introduced different legal regulations from different countries that would affect your product like AI-powered glasses.

Appreciated certificate and COMP souvenir are presented to all keynote speakers.

Our lunch was in U Garden and many thanks our Hon. Treasurer Dr. Mandict Wong who arranged food.
