Asian
Network for Quality (ANQ) Congress 2023 was held by Vietnam Quality Association
of Ho Chi Minh City (VQAH) in the Vabis International College, Phy My, Ba Ria
Vung Tau, Vietnam from 17-20 Oct 2023. The congress theme was “Quality
Transforms with A.I. Booming”. Day 1 of
Congress is held on 18th Oct 2023. After lunch, we went to the
parallel session.
I
was session chair for AD1 & AD2 for Artificial Intelligence and
Digitization. Dr. Too Meng Keng also chair in another session TO3 for
Traditional QM & others.
The
first speaker was Mr. Liang Wang and his topic named “Digital exploration on
Uneven Door Quality Management of Hefei Haier Refrigerator”. He introduced the
background of Haier in the beginning.
Lastly,
Mr. Wang mentioned their digital quality management and concluded that they
would focus on the digital blueprint and sustainable green development, as well
as, combine the operation of 5G technology scenarios in the future, so as to
build a refrigerator smart industrial park that fulfilled the process of
end-to-end QM digital platform and the digital management of core business.
The
second speaker was Mr. Tatsuya Ishii and his presentation title was “An
Analysis of User Characteristics using Embedding Model with Attention Mechanism
Considering Auxiliary Information”. For e-commerce websites, analyzing user
characteristics from purchase history data was important. Then he introduced
his research objective that propose an "embedding (real-valued vectors)
model" that captures user and item characteristics precisely.
The
third speaker was Dr. Shrihari P. Mandaogane (Principal Consultant, TQM
International PVT. LTD.) and his presentation topic named “Effective Quality
Management through Digitalization and IOT”. Dr. Mandaogane firstly introduced
digitalized feedback and feedforward system. He concluded that using digitalized
and IOT system for capturing data of CTQ product specifications and associated
key process parameters, we were able to monitor real time stability of process
parameters that defect generation itself was prevented.
The
fourth speaker was Ms. Wanyan Cheng and her topic entitled "The Effects of
Service Robots’ Features on Consumer Acceptance in Restaurant”. Three types of
service robots were introduced and they were mechanoid (maching-looking),
animal (cat-looking) and humanoid (human-looking).
HKSQ
team Dr. Albert So asked questions and discussed with speaker. Ms. Cheng said
that participants rated utilitarian value higher for humanoid, mechanoid, and
animal service robots in that order, while hedonic value was rated highest for
animal and humanoid robots, and lowest for mechanoid service robots.
The
fifth speaker was Mr. Tokimasa Isomura and his topic was “A Study on
Performance Improvement and Interpretability by FT-Transformer”. He said
developing superior models tailored for tabular data is a crucial task within
the context of business operations. FT-Transformer (Feature Tokenizer +
Transformer)(FTT) model was proposed.
During
Q&A, I shared my view on Mr. Isomura three model using wife thinking on
husband. Wife like her husband took random attention in all elements like
FT-Transformer in the middle. But husband would like to get global attention in
special elements rod like proposed model in the left. The compromise model
seems to be BigBird. All participants were laughing.
During
the tea break, I took a photo with Dr Nigel Grigg (NZOQ) and Prof. TN Goh.
In parallel session II – AD2, I am also the
session chair.
Ms.
Jiayun Sheng was the first speaker in session II – AD2 and her topic entitled
“Study on the Influencing Factor Model of Consumers’ Purchase Intention Douyin
Broadcast Platform”.
She
proposed conceptual frame of purchase intention from different values. Finally,
Ms. Sheng concluded that cosmetic consumers were increasingly focused on the
quality and price levels of products, with both of these factors significantly
influencing their purchase intentions.
The
second speaker was Mr. Hiroki Wakatsuki and his presentation title was “Tree
Species Classification using Multispectral Images of Multiple Time Periods and
Machine Learning”. “Accurate identification of tree species is essential for
effective forest management” he said.
Then
Mr. Wakatsuki demonstrated different data pre-processing such as RGB
ortho-mosaics and multispectral ortho-mosaics. He concluded spectral data from the
new green and autumn foliage seasons were statistically signification for
classification. I asked a question about transfer learning that using this
model to classify tree in different area of Japan. He replied that it could be
done.
The
third speaker was Mr. Ryuta Matsuoka and his topic named “A Study on
Recommender Model based on the Neural Collaborative Ranking Model Utilizing
Multiple Implicit Feedback with Ordering Relationships”. His study aims to generate ranking models from
pairwise comparison for each online shopping user, leveraging only implicit
feedback was desirable due to the challenges in obtaining explicit feedback.
Last
speaker was Dr. Chitresh Kundu and his presentation topic was “IoT Enabled
Predictive Maintenance Framework”. In the beginning, he introduced TATA steel
making process. In the beginning, he introduced TATA steel making process. He
discussed the existing data collection and its challenges such as volume and
availability.
After
that Dr. Kundu briefed the maintenance technology roadmap from prioritization
of critical equipment to commitment on availability, repaired cost and
inventory KPIs.
Finally,
he proposed to use IoT enabled sensor which was TATA inhouse developed smart
asset monitoring sensor (SAMS). That sensor installed on the Gearbox and data
transferred to AMDC for High end Analytics and then alert management through
centralized SAP dashboard.
Dr.
Kenny Ma exchanged experience with Dr. Kundu.
Some other sessions Minda attended were recorded
as follows.
Mr.
Laxmikant Natu (ISQ) presented the topic “TQM Handkerchief” that four sides of
handkerchief were Policy Management (PM), Daily Management (DM), Improvement
Management QCC (PM) and Cross Functional Management (CFM).
In Dr. Lien’s session – Testing,
Certification and Accreditation, Minda attended following topics.
“Failure
Sign Detection using Sensor Data for Predictive Maintenance” was presented by
Mr. Kenshin Futamura.
“Exploration
of circuit board FA Analysis” was presented by Mr. Bai Guangzhe (Haier).
“Exploration
of circuit board FA Analysis” was presented by Mr. Bai Guangzhe (Haier).
Mr.
Leo Liu (Consultant, Dept., of Rapid Transit Engineering)(CSQ) presented the
topic named “Certification for Railway System”.
He
introduced EU accreditation system and briefed EU railway safety standard
structures such as IEC 61508.
“Evaluation
of Methods for Estimating Measurement Precision” presented by Mr. Kazuma
Morita.
Lastly,
Ms. Shiho Samura presented the paper named “Causal Analysis of Patient
Satisfaction in Neurosurgery Clinic”.
Finished
all day 1 duties, we left the college and I took a photo with students for
memory.
Dr.
Nguyen Xuan Tung (VQAH) invited us (HKSQ team) to have dinner and arranged a
taxi to pick up from hotel.
We
went to the traditional Vietnam restaurant.
We
took a group photo in the VIP room for memory.
So
large fish that type of fish is small in Hong Kong.
When
we were back to hotel, we met Prof. Kuan Sheng-Pin and his wife.
