Asian
Network for Quality (ANQ) Congress 2023 was held by Vietnam Quality Association
of Ho Chi Minh City (VQAH) in the Vabis International College, Phy My, Ba Ria
Vung Tau, Vietnam from 17-20 Oct 2023. The congress theme was “Quality
Transforms with A.I. Booming”. The day 2
morning was parallel sessions on 19th Oct 2023. We arrived the venue
and took a group photo in front of the college.

I
am the first one presented in the session of AD4 – Artificial Intelligence and
Digitization in the Parallel Session III. My topic was “ExtenicsGPT using
ChatGPT for Creative Prototype of New Product”. In the beginning, I briefed the
basic concept or Extenics, Extension Innovation Method (METS), ChatGPT and
Dall-E.
Then
I explained the methodology of ExtenicsGPT that employing ChatGPT in each step of
the Extension Innovation Method for enhancing the creativity and possibility to
create new ideas.
After
that I demonstrated some new product prototypes which proposed by students and
employed Dall-E to visualize those prototypes. Finally, I compared AI and Human
grading on different prototypes and found some interested phenomena such as AI
rated high but Human rated low vice versa.
During
Q&A, Prof. Wan Seon Shin asked how students know the cost effective and how
many students to be studied. I replied that we taught them some technical
management for estimating the production cost for grading and there were about
70 students in the class with 12 group projects for this study.
At
the end, Prof. Hideo Suzuki presented the speaker certificate to me.
After
my presentation, I went to another session for Ms. Larisa Fedyk and Mr. Igor
Pundel (ARR, Russian) and their presentation topic entitled “Three Strategies
of Effective Medicine”. Since their speech in Russian, Igor employed mobile
translation to be English for us.
Firstly,
they briefed the definition of medical psychology. They employed patient-centered
approach for treatment method development such as specific health benefits of
fermented dairy foods, rejection of bad habit (e.g. smoking). Finally, they
concluded that “A healthy heart is the basis of a healthy person”.
Then
Prof. Tomomichi Suzuki presented speakers certificate to Ms. Larisa Fedyk and Mr.
Igor Pundel.
I
visited Mr. Too Meng Keng’s session TO5 – Traditional Quality Management and
Others, he was a session chair and the speaker was Ms. Yan-Yu Lin who is
student of Dr. Pei-Wen Chen (Yuan Ze University). Ms. Lin’s topic named “A
Comparison of Cumulative Count of Conforming Chart with Runs Rules for
High-Quality Processes”.
I
also visited Dr. Nigel Grigg’s session TO6 – Traditional Quality Management and
Others, he chaired this session. During the time, Ms. Mamiko Watanabe (JSQC) presented
the topic named “Factor Analysis Framework of Review Data based on BERT and
SHAP for Improving User Ratings”.
In
the same session, Mr. Kaushik Biswas (ISQ) was the next speaker and his
presentation title was “Dimensional Quality Management (DQM)”. He demonstrated
V Model of DQM. He concluded that DQM is an in-house developed system
integrated digital process which maps and reports the dimensional quality of
the product at all critical milestones.
The
fourth speaker in Nigel session was Dr. Catherine Chan (HKSQ & HKQFDA) and
her presentation topic named “Quality Function Deployment (QFD): Conduct Need
Exploration Customer Segment by Customer Segment”. Her study aimed to explain
conduct need exploration group by group or segment by segment with applying QFD
in simultaneous co-use situations so as to acquire a more comprehensive understanding
with the overall needs.
In
case study, Dr. Chan’s team had been conducting studies on understanding the
passengers’ ride needs of an urban rail in Hong Kong. She separated three main
passenger groups for study. Finally, she concluded that suppliers were required
to properly manage both the shared and the conflicting needs of the customer
segments in every situation of using the products and the services so as to win
customer satisfaction.
Dr.
Nigel Grigg presented the certificate to Dr. Catherine Chan.
Back
to AD4 Session, Ms. Dao Ngoc Linh (VAQH) was the fourth speaker and her topic
entitled “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Managing Quality within the
Vietnamese Food Industry: Opportunities and Challenges”.
Dr.
Nguyen Thanh Tung (VAQH) commented on Vietnamese food industry for AI
application.
The
last speaker in AD4 Session was Mr. Manickaraj S (TVS Motor Company Ltd., India)
and his presentation title was “Development of Prognostic Health Monitoring
System in an Electric Two-Wheeler using IOT & AI Techniques”. Finally, he
raised four challenges included data integration, scalability issues, real time
processing and Data security & privacy.
During
the tea breaking, I took a photo with Ms. Duan Yihong (段一泓) and Ms. (CAQ).
I
took photo with Ms. Ngoc Do Thi and Ms. Linh Dao Ngoc (VQAH)
Then
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung also joined us.
Minda
and I took a photo with Dr. Surani Sharmalee Dias (Chairlady, SLAAQP) from Sri
Lanka.
After
break, I joined the session AD5 again. The first speaker was Dr. Surani
Sharmalee Dias (Chairlady, SLAAQP) and her presentation topic was “Leader
Authenticity Impacts Artificial Intelligence: A Case Study from Sri Lanka”. She
concluded that Authentic Leadership behavior should have both positive
psychological capacities and ethical climate.
Dr.
Albert So (HKSQ) was the second speaker and his presentation entitled “Development
of Artificial Intelligence, Legal Technology and Online Dispute Resolution in
Hong Kong Legal and Alternative Dispute Resolution Industries”. Firstly, he
briefed some legal system background such as average waiting time for first
court trial and legal cost.
Then
he showed the statistics of disputes types in 2022 to 2023. Major part was
cross border and small amount consumer disputes.
Finally,
Dr. So proposed legal technology development for Robo-Lawyer and Online
Mediator.

Nguyen Thanh Tung (Rector, VABIS) presented the speaker certificate to Dr.
Albert So.
In
the session TO8, Dr. Kenny Ma (HKSQ) was the third speaker and his presentation
title named “The Development of Electric Vehicle Smart Charging Management
System based on the Driving Behaviours in Hong Kong”. He briefed background of electric
vehicle and charging management system in the beginning.
Finally,
Dr. Ma proposed smarting charging with dynamic power load management with power
system neutral charging.

In
AD5 session, Ms. Le Ngoc Doan Trang presented the topic named “Developing Water
River And Fruits Tourism In Vietnam’S Mekong Delta In Digital Transformation”.
Our
Singapore friend Mr. Too Meng Ken presented in the session TO7 and his topic
entitled “Equipment Uptime Improvement in Semiconductor Industry through Six
Sigma Methodology.
In
the beginning, Mr. Too briefed the whole process of the Chemical Vapor
Deposition (CVD). Then he employed different six sigma tools including cause-effect
diagram, hypothesis test, Cpk study, control chart, etc., to improve the
equipment uptime.
Prof.
Hideo Suzuki presented the speaker certificate to Mr. Too Meng Ken.
After
that we went to student canteen for lunch. Dr. Panisuan Jamnarnwej (SQAT)
played the harmonica. We had lunch with music.
Dr.
Nguyen Thanh Tung (VAQH) and Ms. Le Ngoc Doan Trang invited us to have lunch in
student canteen together.
