ANQ Congress 2023, in Phy My, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Vietnam – Day 1 (Part A – Opening Ceremony)

Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) Congress 2023 was held by Vietnam Quality Association of Ho Chi Minh City (VQAH) in the Vabis International College, Phy My, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Vietnam from 17-20 Oct 2023. The congress theme was “Quality Transforms with A.I. Booming”. Day 1 of Congress is held on 18^th Oct 2023. We arrived early in the morning and took a photo for memory.

I signed on the memory board for VQAH after registration.

Then I met CAQ representatives - Ms. Duan Yihong (段一泓) and Ms. Wang Lin (王琳) (CAQ).

Before the congress, there were some performances.

Then Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung and his students performed a new Song for ANQ named “ANQ Hello”.

Opening Ceremony

Prof. Shu Yamada (Chairman, ANQ) gave welcome address.

Honorable guest speech by Government Senior Officer

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoang Lien (Congress Chairperson, ANQ Congress 2023) gave an opening address.

ANQ Board members and guests were in the front tables.

Prof. Shu Yamada (Japan) (Chairman, ANQ) was the first keynote speaker and his topic entitled “ANQ Way toward Sustained Success by Quality”. Firstly, he briefed the history of ANQ establishment.

Then he reviewed the ANQ members in geographical map with joining dates.

After that Prof. Shu Yamada reviewed the quality growth in Asia since 1960. And then he said that the next challenge is an approach to satisfy not only the direct customers who pay money, but also stakeholders and society as a whole. It is about QM for society satisfaction.

Finally, Prof. Shu Yamada proposed solution for this challenge from two steps. Step 1 is to visualize the society in terms of product, service, information and financial value and step 2 is enabled by digital transformation (DX) to collect appropriate data. Lastly, he concluded that ANQ way is solution for society satisfaction.

Before the break, Prof. Shu Yamada represented ANQ to appreciate the sponsor companies for the Congress 2023.

I met Nepal representatives Mr. Pradhan Biay Lal and Mr. Sangroula Sanjeeb. We took a photo for memory.

After the break, Mr. Janak Mehta (India) (Honorary Member and Past President of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ)) was the second keynote speaker. His presentation was in online model and named “Contribute to the Quality of Human Life using Holistic Quality Management Approaches”.

Mr. Mehta also reviewed the history of ANQ, principle and ANQ way’s goal, strategy and core values. And he discussed the expected changes in the next ten years including new soft technologies (AI, ML & IOT), new technologies (Biotech, Nanotech, robotics), and global warming.

For UN 17x SDGs, ANQ contributed in No.2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 13.

Lastly, Mr. Janak Mehta proposed new vision and strategy of ANQ for next 10 years (ANQ Vision 2033).

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung (Vietnam) (Rector of Vabis International College) was the fourth keynote speaker and his topic was “Customize AI Model in Business: Case Study in KMTG Vietnam (Khai Minh Technology Group) KMTG's Brain”. Firstly, Dr. Nguyen briefed the background of KMTG and its enzyme probiotic products for healing, green life and better future.

Then he introduced the R&D and Production for enzyme probiotic products including sourced-technology from up-stream (recombinant enzymes) to fermentation and then to down-stream (store product in powder form) technologies.

After that Dr. Nguyen explained how to use ChatGPT solving R&D requirements and built the KMTG’s Brain.

Finally, Dr. Nguyen briefed general idea for upgrading AI model including fine-tune and in-context learning, as well as combination of open source and closed source. He pointed two main jobs that using Chat API to receive request/question from client and then get context information from model using context learning technique indexing private data with embedding API and store to vector database.
