COMP Retreat 2026 cum HIT (Shenzhen) CST Research Student Conference (Day 3)

The COMP retreat in 2026 was held from 6 to 8 Jul 2026. This time included the PolyU COMP – HIT (SZ) CST Research Student Conference on 7-8 Jul 2026. The theme is “The Future in an AI-Revolutionised World”. In day 3, we need to have breakfast early and then check out.

During waiting the shuttle bus, I took a photo with Dr. Mohammed Auquil Mirza.

Dr. Jeff Tang and I attended the session named “Embodied Intelligence and Autonomous”.

The first PhD student was Mr. Guodong Du and his presentation title was “Knowledge Fusion of LLMs via Modular SkillPacks”.

The second speaker was Mr. Huang Xinyu and his topic named “Jailbreaking Embodied LLMs via Action-Level Manipulation”.

The third speaker was Mr. Zhang Rongyu and his topic entitled “MoLe-VLA: Dynamic Layer-skipping Vision Language Action Model via Mixture-of-Layers for Efficient Robot Manipulation”.

The fourth speaker was Mr. Gao Weixun and his presentation title named “Know When to Touch: Anticipatory Tactile Gating for Contact-Rich Manipulation”.

The fifth speaker was Mr. Hu Bing and his presentation topic was “From Abstraction to Instantiation: Learning Behavioral Representation for Vision-Language-Action Model”.

The sixth speaker was Mr. Li Wei and his topic entitled “CogVLA: Cognition-Aligned Vision-Language-Action Model via Instruction-Driven Routing & Sparsification”.

The seventh speaker was Mr. Zhang Shuaike and his title named “AffordGrasp: In-Context Affordance Reasoning for Open-Vocabulary Task-Oriented Grasping in Clutter”.

The eighth speaker was Mr. Zhang Haoyu and his presentation was “Visual-Spatial Understanding”.

The nineth speaker was Mr. Zhang Xuening and his topic was “Cortical Policy: A Dual-Stream View Transformer for Robotic Manipulation”.

The last speaker was Mr. Li Zaijing and his presentation topic named “Global Prior Meets Local Consistency: Dual-Memory Augmented Vision-Language-Action Model for Efficient Robotic Manipulation”.

Then Dr. Jeff Tang, Dr. Hongcheng Xie, Prof. Andy Chun and I visited the poster area.

I supported the student who studied using time series forecasting. I had studied time series forecasting long time ago.

Then Jeff and I supported Prof. Zackary Sin’s study and her project can help academic advisor for advisee’s study planning.

This poster related to Jeff research field HCI.

One of posters studied the mixture of experts.

I supported the student who studied AI for Science. One poster is related to molecule and the other one is related to protein.

This one is supervised by Prof. Zackary Sin and Prof. Qing Li.

We also visited the demonstrated session. My TA who demonstrated his DataClaw (AI agent) for claiming money process.

After the conference, the closing session and lunch were held in hotel.
