The COMP retreat in 2026 was held from 6 to 8 Jul 2026.
This time included the PolyU COMP – HIT (SZ) CST Research Student Conference on
7-8 Jul 2026. The theme is “The Future in an AI-Revolutionised World”. This
time I went to the venue my MTR from Futian to the InterContinental Shenzhen.
I arrived the hotel and took a photo in front of the sculpture.
I met Dr. Hongcheng Xie and we went to the venue named
Barcelona Room.

In the beginning, Prof. Li Qing (Head of COMP) gave
opening remark.
Then Dr. Mingsong Lyu briefed AI-assisted Teaching. He
said reversing the AI chatting workflow to be AI asks questions and student
returns answers.
And then Dr. Hong Va Leong chaired the Innovation Education
Development Scheme reporting session.
Dr. Richard Lui briefed his project named “University-Wide
AI Literacy and Competency Education in the Generative AI Era”.
Dr. Mohammed Auquil Mirza presented his proposal named
“An AI-Driven System for Cross-Disciplinary Corporate Practicum and
Undergraduate Capstone Matching and Management”.
Then Prof. Peter Ng briefed his project entitled “An
Industry-Integrated Virtual Workplace Resilience Studio for Internship Preparation
and Career Readiness”.
After that Prof. Allen Au shared the Information on Impactful
Research Thrust/Hub.
During the break, we took a photo with Prof. Fiona Liu
who led the Departmental Entrepreneurship Fund. Andy and I are member of panel
in this fund.

Finally, subject group discussion performed and each
representative shared their views.
Prof. Walter Fung shared their discussed ideas.
Prof. Ken Yiu and I shared our team’s ideas about internship
and student development.
Then we had dinner together.

My room has a balcony, so I can go outside.
Very beautiful scenery but raining.
At night, we went to Walter’s room to have late-night
snack and happy hour!
