CityU Eminence Society (CES) – The 8th Exco Inauguration Ceremony & Annual Dinner 2026

The 8th Exco Inauguration Ceremony and Annual Dinner was held on 8 March 2019. I was honor to be invited by Dr. Raymond Leung (Immediate past chairman, CES) to attend the dinner. We are CityU EngD cohorts and then Dr. Augustine Chow, Dr. Herbert Yeung, Dr. Raymond Leung and I took a group photo for memory. 

Before enter the hall, I took a photo with Dr. Allen Shi (Chairman, CES). The mission of CES is “To unite senior alumni to proactively contribute their resources, expertise and networks to help advance the University and serve the community.”

Dr. YC Chau and I also took a photo in front of the banner.

When I entered the hall, I met Prof. Freddy Boey Yin Chiang (President, CityU) and Prof. CS Lee (Provost and Deputy President, CityU).

Then Prof. SUN Dong (Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry) arrived and we took a group photo with President.

And then we met Mr. Andrew Fan (Distinguished Alumni) and we set in the same table.

I also met Dr. Wilson Chan Fung-Cheung (Advisor and Founding Member, CES).

Ir Sunny Lee is now the chairman of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited (ASTRI).

I set with Prof. Philip Chan (Emeritus Professor (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), PolyU).

I met Mr. Basil Wai (CEO, HKEIA) and we also attended the HKCTC award ceremony in this afternoon.

Ms. Kelly Liu (Hon secretary, HKSQ) joined the table with Herbert and Augustine.

Before ceremony, some students dancing performance had been showed.

It is a big hall in the Shangri-La hotel.

And then addresses by different University representatives including Prof. Freddy Boey, Prof. Michael Ngai (Chairman, CityU Council), Dr. Raymond Leung (Immediate Past Chairman, CES) and Dr. Allen Shi (Chairman, CES).

After that Dr. Raymond Leung passed the CES plaque to the new chairman Dr. Allen Shi.

All CES delegates and guests raised a toast to all participants.

Then I also met Prof. Timothy W. Tong (Former President, PolyU) and we took a photo together with Prof. Philip Chan.

I met Mr. Dominic Lam again and we both attended the HKCTC award ceremony in this afternoon.

At the end of the dinner, I took a photo with Kelly and left together.
