Chinese Traditional Wisdom for the Study of Knowing People II (中華智慧知人學 II)–Lecture 5

Minda and I attended Prof. Pang’s (彭泓基教授) course named “Chinese Traditional Wisdom for the Study of Knowing People II” (中華智慧知人學 II) lecture 5 on 18^th Oct 2025. In the beginning, Prof. Pang reviewed Shiyingxue (仕贏學) and Luozhijing (羅織經) again. 

He mentioned Shiyingxue (仕贏學) taught people how to be good officer in government.

Prof. Pang then selected one of the battles, the Battle of Guandu (官渡之戰), for discussion.

We focused on this key battle that influenced the history of the Three Kingdoms.

And then he explained the background and situation at that time.

Both parties had their own advisors. There was party strife on one side.

Five Things and Seven Strategies in Sun Tzu's Art of War was employed to analysis both parties’ situations.

One of key suggestions is the ten victory conditions in Cao Cao (曹操).

Finally, he explained the detailed analysis of this battle.

After the lecture, we had lunch together. Ms. Hin Hin Wong near Prof. Pang joined our lunch.

Afterwards, Minda and I as well as other classmates went to Kitsen’s music room to practice Harmony (和聲/和音).

We were excited to work out under Kitsen’s leadership.
