HKSTP APAC Innovation Summit 2017 Series – Robotics

The APAC Innovation Summit series was a flagship innovation conference of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) and the topic entitled “Robotics” was held on 5-6 Jun 2017. APAC Innovation Summit (“AIS” in short and formerly known as InnoAsia) aimed to provide an exchange platform on the trend of specific technology sectors. Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) rarely has a physical format but it penetrates into wide segments of our daily lives, with huge implications for a wide range of industries, such as industrial automation, services, transportation and wellness. Any robotics without A.I. is just a tool; only solutions embedded with A.I. would become intelligent. It is pity that I was busy today and only attended one of keynote speakers and summarized his speech below.

The Keynote 5 speaker was Mr. Pinpin Zhu (Shanghai Xiaoi Robot Technology Co., Ltd.) and his presentation entitled “The Industrial Application of Conversation A.I.” and then he demonstrated some application in mobile chatbot. Firstly, he showed some basic AI used in “Multi-question recognition”, “Error Correction” and “Sensitive Word Filtration”.

Then Mr. Zhu introduced the Deep AI and its core of service and business value.

Some application was demonstrated and discussed such as Multi-round dialogue, Dynamic Scene Interaction (e.g. fight ticket), Deep Semantic Reasoning, Multi-intension Understanding, Intension Recommendation… etc. Some interested samples were showed for reference below.

- Dynamic Knowledge Loading (Small Robot can analysis and answer your question based on information table.

- Reasoning based on Knowledge Graph (Find out “who is the daughter of the first husband of Bozhi Zhang’s ex-husband’s current girlfriend?” that is very complex semantic statement!) (My opinion that it could be employed the Extenics Relation-element.)

After that Mr. Zhu introduced different AI+ applications become Smart Customer Service.

Secondly, it was employed in Smart City. Then AI became the soul of the machine (Machine Mind OS), and using in Smart Office, Smart Healthcare.

Finally, Mr. Zhu showed the acceleration in a positive cycle from Industrial Application to Learning System and then to Knowledge & Semantic, finally run the cycle again.
