Mainland Trip to Xishuangbanna (西雙版納) for Celebrating Our Anniversary

From 22^nd to 30^th Dec 2025, we went to Xishuangbanna (西雙版納) and also celebrate our 19^th marriage anniversary. After Shanghai trip with Raymond Chan and Quinnie Yip in Jun, we travelled together again. In day 1, we went to the Beijing Daxing International Airport (北京大興國際機場) first.

And then we transferred to Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport (西雙版納嘎灑國際機場).

Minda and I with Quinnie took a photo in front the airport when arrived.

Since we arrived at night, we had BBQ in the street near our hotel for late dinner.

We lived in the hotel named “The Sky Panoramic Residence Hotel (景鴻天幕像居酒店)” with elephants as the theme.

Day 2 (20251223)

Minda and I took a photo with white elephant in the morning.

Then we visited the Wild Elephant Valley.

Firstly, we enjoyed the dancing performance.

And then saw elephants show.

After that we went to the local shopping mall for lunch. Must of building related to peacocks.

Local primary school was saw.

And then we visited the Mekong River Starlight Night Market (湄公河星光夜市).

Minda and I took a photo in front of the Jinghong City Dajinta Temple (景洪市大金塔寺).

Then we took a photo in front of the interested building near Da Jie Xiao Xiang.

At night, we visit the shop named “789” for wood sculpture and I brought a gift for Minda (It showed at the end of this blog)

Very beautiful night market!

In the evening, we had fish hot pot.

Day 3 (20251224)

We visited Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) (中科院西雙版納熱帶植物園). We took a photo in the “One Tree to be Forest”.

Minda and Quinnie took a photo with interested roots of trees.

Then we passed the Environmental Education Center.

Outside the garden, Minda and I took a photo written National Park.

And then we went to the Mekong River (湄公河).

I took a beautiful photo of the temple.

We saw the performance of Xishuangbanna Water Splashing Festival (西雙版納潑水節).

I recorded a short video.

We rested in the Dai Garden (傣族園).

Finally, we had dinner in local restaurant.

Day 4 (20251225)

In the morning, we went outside for breakfast and passed the Dai and Tibetan medicine (傣藏醫). Minda and I took a photo for memory.

We had local breakfast and it is very economy (High Cost Performance - 高性價比)

There is a huge Buddha statue on the mountain.

After that we walked around the garden.

We enjoyed a braised beef buffet lunch. (RMB$59@)

The next station was Manting Royal Garden (曼聽御花園) and we saw Zhou Enlai statue (周恩來雕像) for his joining the Water Splashing Festival.

The restaurant we had dinner there.

Many different performance shows were inside the garden.

We enjoyed the big show here.

Many dancers performed.

Then we released the river lantern.

A very beautiful river view.

Before we left, we saw most of participants dancing together.

Day 5 (20251226)

We went to primeval forest on day 5.

We had lunch in the "farmhouse tourism” (農家樂).

Arrived the forest entry, we took a speedboat to go to inside of forest.

Minda and I took a photo in the rainforest dock.

We arrived the Wangtianshu Scenic Area (望天樹景區).

Many rope ladders connect the trees, and we need to walk along the rope ladders later.

We entered it.

The staff took photos for us, and we bought one to take home as a souvenir.

At night, we went to Night Market again.

Minda and I took a photo with a big balloon.

A very beautiful night view!

Day 6 (20251227)

We took a photo in front of the Xishuangbanna Virgin Forest Park.

We went into the underwater world of the Mekong River.

There was a large floor piano at the entrance, and Minda tried to play it.

It's like the Hong Kong Ocean Park from a long time ago.

Different kind of fishes.

Jellyfish

We watched the mermaid (美人魚) show.

Minda took a photo with wishing tree.

We went to the village.

Another show related to peacocks.

I recorded a short video about feeding peacocks.

After that we went to another village named “Manzhang Village” (曼掌村).

Saw how they dry mangoes

We then arrived the hotel in Puer (普洱市).

At night, we went to "Tea Horse Ancient Town" (茶馬古城) for dinner, which is one of the starting points of the ancient Tea Horse Road.

We enjoyed hot pot again, and the vegetables were free!

The streets are beautiful, and the lanterns sway gracefully.

We had some pastries.

Day 7 (20251228)

Before went to Sun River Forest Park (太陽河森林公園), we had tea in the way.

We took a photo in part of Tea Horse Road (茶馬古道).

Minda took a photo in front of the road.

Quinnie and Minda took a photo with two bamboos.

By the way, I saw Yunnan Agricultural University (YNAU) (雲南農業大學).

We then had lunch in "farmhouse tourism” (農家樂) again. We ate chicken this time.

Arrived Sun River Forest Park (太陽河森林公園).

We took travel bus to visit the park.

We saw three rhinos (犀牛)! Minda took a photo with one.

The raccoon was very close to us, so I recorded it.

Binturongs (熊狸) were here.

Minda was very interested in this tree and its root system.

The bird was very close to me.

Before left, we took a photo for Peace on Earth.

Then we come back to our hotel “The Sky Panoramic Residence Hotel (景鴻天幕像居酒店)”.

We had mushroom hot pot in that night.

There are many different types of mushrooms.

Very beautiful environment.

We took a group photo with good foods.

Mushrooms and meats.

Our soup sample was taken and kept for safety and quality control. It is very good practice in food quality.

Day 8 (20251229)

We visited the China-Myanmar border crossing at Daluo Port (中緬邊境打洛口岸).

We had lunch in the local restaurant.

After that we went to the “One tree forest scenic spor”.

Took travel bus again!

Then we took a photo with China and Myanmar Friendship Grand Pagoda (中緬友誼大金塔).

We took photo in front of the Monument to the Unknown Heroes of the War of Resistance Against Japan (抗日無名英雄紀念碑)

The washroom taps were elephant's head.

Minda and I took a photo with Couple Trees.

We arrived the China-Myanmar Boundary Marker (中緬界碑)

The Guangming Buddhist Temple.

We saw “A Thousand-year Old Banyan Tree – One-tree Woods” (獨樹成林).

Finally, we arrived Mengjinglai Buddha Temple (勐景来大佛寺).

I like this statement meaning that “Spiritual practice is about constantly correcting one's behavior, speech, and thoughts”. (修行就是在不斷的修正自己的行為, 語言, 心念)
