COMP Capstone Seminar Workshop – Interim Stage

Dr. Walter Fung arranged an event named “Capstone Seminar Workshop” to assist final year student to prepare their capstone project and shared career or academic planning beyond graduation. It is the second workshop for Interim Stage. Before the workshop start, we took a group photo for memory.

In the beginning, Dr. Walter Fung briefed the requirement of interim stage of capstone project.

The agent was showed.

Dr. Walter Fung shared his opinions such as upload report early and email it to your supervisor for backup.

Then he mentioned the assessment requirement that not only supervisor but also included co-examiner.

There are near forty students at the end.

Finally, Dr. Walter Fung reminded students that they might make mistakes when using GenAI.

The second speaker was Dr. Jeff Tang and shared his view on good capstone project example.

Firstly, he showed the good report standard and essential components.

He then warned students not to procrastinate.

Finally, he shared some excellent projects that could be published in journals.

I was the third speaker to share my view on the interim report based on my five company-based capstone projects.

Then I shared some format of interim report.

After shared different projects’ requirement and example of other university FYP project. I gave some tips for interim report.

The last speaker was Ms. Sage Lai for student sharing. Her project entitled “Machine Learning-Based Risk Analysis and IoT-based Application for Construction Worker Safety”.
