The Technical Visit to Hong Kong Science and Technology Park's Laboratories and Workshop was organized by Macau Association of Science and Technology (澳門科學技術協進會) and International Society for Chinese Medicine (國際中醫藥學會); and co-organized by Hong Kong Society for Quality (香港品質學會) and Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, University of Macau (澳門大學中華醫藥研究院), as well as, sponsored by Macau Education Development Fund (教育發展基金). The technical visit was arranged on 31 August 2011 (Saturday).
Macau Association of Science and Technology (澳門科學技術協進會) was established with the mission of advancing the growth of science and technology of Macau in 1997. The association put special emphassis on the dissemination of science and technology knowledge, especially in biotechnology, quality control, and laboratory safety and management, to the students and teachers in Macau. Therefore, the "Biotech Education Program" has started since 2007.
The first visit laboratory was Wireless Communications Test Laboratory (WCTL) which had achieved by CNAS for 3GPP pre-conformity test of mobile devices. WCTL is the only testing lab in Hong Kong equipped with 2G to LTE testing capability for both product testing and pre-conformance test.
Then Reliability Laboratory (RL) was visited and I explained different reliability testing for semiconductor devices and electronic products for the visitors. Some of Reliability Stress Test Services were briefed such as High Temperature Operating Life Test (HTOL), Low Temperature Operating Life Test (LTOL), Temperature and Humidity Test, Reflow Soldering Simulation, Temperature Cycle Test (Air-to-Air), Highly Accelerated Stress Test (HAST), Bias or Unbiased, High Temperature Storage, and Moisture Sensitivity Level, etc.
After that we visit Biotech SME Centre and took a group photo in front of the centre.
Our Biotech Engineer (Mr. Antony Chan) introduced different biotech equipment included Multiplex Bead Based System, Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Gel imaging system, Orbital Shaking Incubator, Freeze Dryer, Multimode Microplate Reader, Fully automated inverted fluorescence microscope, Genetic Sequencer, Real Time PCR, Stable Micro Systems TA.XT.plus Texture Analyser, and Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography system, etc.
The last laboratory was our new lab named "3D SiP Lab". I introduced the whole process line would be installed into the clean room. The whole process would be in sequence as Wafer Saw, Die Attach, Plasma Clean, Wire Bone, Transfer modl, Liquid encapsulation, and finally Trim & Singulation.
After laboratories visit, I led them to visit Charles K. Kao's Corner to introduce how to develop optical fibre.
Then we visited the Charles K. Kao's Auditorium and there were about 280 seats theater.
Last location was Green 18 Building which was Hong Kong National High-Tech Industrialisation (Partner) Base For Green Technology.
Our colleagues briefed different environmental technologies employed in this building and its efficiency.
Then we visited the roof garden and observed Science Park Phase III building progress.
Finally, we took a group photo in front of Charles K. Kao's Auditorium (Golden Egg).
In the next session, I introduced our laboratory quality, safety and environmental management system for sharing.
