Asian
Network for Quality (ANQ) Congress 2024 was held by Japanese Society for
Quality Control (JSQC) in the Keio University, Yokohama, Japan from 16-20 Sep
2024. The congress theme was “Prosperity through Quality – Returning to
Origins, Leaping into the Future”. The ANQ Congress 2024 – Technical Visit was
arranged on 20th Sep 2024. Minda and I selected to visit SB-Kawasumi
and arrived the meeting place at Hiyoshi Campus.
Minda
took a photo with Ms. Asako Ikevchi who is secretary of Prof. Shu Yamada.
Prof.
Watalu Yamamoto led us and explained the rule in the SB-Kawasumi that no photos
inside the company and needed to side NDA. Because we visited their R&D laboratory.

Firstly,
the representative of SB-Kawasumi Laboratories, Inc. introduced the background
of company and they started its operations on 1st Oct 2021 through
the integration of the medical device business and Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd.
They introduced their quality activities including “Promotion of company-wide quality
improvement”, “Quality Improvement activities – Big Data & FMEA” and “Quality
Education”. Then we visited their office area and they promoted UN SDGs and
Green concept with open environment.
Then
we also visit laboratory. SB-Kawasumi had ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
certificates. When we back, we took a photo with Mr. GE Tan, Mr. Johnson Tan
and Prof. Shu Yamada.
Finally,
we went back to the meeting room and continued discussion. Before left, I presented
HKSQ 35th anniversary book and activities highlight to SB-Kawasumi
team.
Lastly,
we took a group photo in front of the company logo in the triangular designed
environment.
After
the technical visit, we had lunch in the Warehouse restaurant.
Prof.
Watalu Yamamoto and Prof. Shu Yamada arranged a good Japanese food for us.

Very
nice weather and beautiful views.
At
the end, we took the travel bus back to campus.
Asian

two days congress activities, Gala Dinner is our traditional celebration event.
We need to move location from Yagami Campus to Hiyoshi Campus. Since it was
small raining, Minda and I together Taiwan team walked to the Campus.

Minda and I received a gift, which was Chinese white wine which brand name is “國緣” (National Fate).
