LOL Lunch & Learn - Generative AI for Art

 Learning Organization Leadership (LOL) program organized by Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy (APIFS) that provides an effective learning platform. In this lunch and learn on 6 Apr 2023, Dr. Mark Lee introduced the speaker Mr. Eric Moy (CEO of KBQuest) and topic named “Generative AI for Art”.

In the beginning, Mr. Eric Moy introduced Generative AI that focused on generating new content such as code, images, music, text, simulations, 3D objects, videos, etc. That could be employed in entertainment, art and design, etc. He briefed AI algorithms to create digital artwork but alerted us that real artist didn’t like AI Art.

And then he briefed the journey of image generation with AI since 2014 from DeepDream to GAN to Neural Style Transfer and to CycleGAN in 2017.

Continued the journey from BigGAN in 2018 to GauGAN to DeepFaceLab and then to DALL-E2 in 2022. 

After that he briefed different business cases including Logo Design, Product Photos, Book Cover Design, AI Modeling. However, those design by AI cannot be register for IP/patent. If you modified the AI created artwork, it could be registered for IP/patent.

Finally, Mr. Eric Moy demonstrated different AI Art tools for design logos, product photos with models, expand images and upscale images.
