Visit to CEPREI in Guangzhou

I was honor to be invited by Ms. Ji Ling (Consultant, Senior Engineer) (紀玲–顧問，高級工程師) to visit China Electronic Product Reliability and Environmental Testing Research Institute (CEPREI) in Guangzhou. They had three Chinese names. (中國賽寶實驗室、工業和信息化部電子第五研究所、中國電子產品可靠性與環境試驗研究所). A group photo was taken in the lobby.

In the middle (Left 6^th), Dr. Aaron Tong (TQM, HKSQ), Mr. WANG Xiao-han (王曉晗–副总工), Dr. KS Chin (CityU, HKSQ), Ms. Ji Ling (紀玲–顧問), I (HKSTP, HKSQ) and Mr. Edward Wong (Manager, Business Development)) (Photo was taken in afternoon so HSBC participants were not here included Dr. Franklin Tong who is former CEO in ASTRI)

The building of CEPREI

We visited the Quality Testing Centre for BeiDou (北斗) Navigation Satellite.

And then we visited to Reliability and Environmental Engineering Center.

The introduction poster mentioned the center’s core service was for implementing “Made in China 2025”.

We also visited CEPREI Quality Inspection and Testing Center.

I took a photo in front of the CEPREI Information Security Research Center. Some laboratories showed videos about hacking the drone and mobile app.

The service in this center included Security service, technical consultation, training and R&D, etc.

During the lunch time, we passed the CEPREI Training Building.

We had lunch in their self-service restaurant. Actually it was not self-service that we feel good service and good food as well.

In afternoon, we continued our visit such as CEPREI Calibration & Testing Centre. Many laboratories in Hong Kong were depended on CEPREI on-site calibration services.

Then we visited their Software Quality Engineering Research Center.

The representative introduced their platform capability to us.

After that we visited the CEPREI Certification Body.

It is the oldest certification body in China and had established since 1979.

When we come back to the conference room, I saw a model for the whole CEPREI buildings.

In the exchanging meeting, Mr. WANG Xiao-han (王曉晗–副总工) introduce CEPREI background and service to us.

Then Mr. YANG Xiaoming (Director – Technology and Planning Office) (楊曉明 - 處長) (Right hand side of Mr. WANG) mentioned the collaboration plan in Great Bay Area and he also briefed their collaboration with some local universities.

Dr. Aaron Tong presented the Quality Innovation in the Great Bay Area.

He introduced his “Minus” methodology for QA.

Then Dr. KS Chin presented the SEEM Dept. of CityU and briefed their research projects.

CityU was ranked very high in the world (upto 49^th according to QS in 2017).

Lastly, I briefed Science Park facilities and introduced Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) to them. Moreover, I prepared a set of information of HKSTP & HKSQ, as well as, Extenics for CEPREI reference. We took a photo for memory at the end.
