The Farm Visit was the first visit in HKSQ World Quality Month on 5 Nov 2011. The visit was organized by HKSQ and co-organized by Hong Kong Food Science and Technology Association Ltd. (HKFSTA) and ASQ-HK.

We started in the Fanling East Rail Station.

We walked to Uncle Po (波叔) fishpond.

Uncle Po explained the fish feeding and characteristic to us. The water quality was maintained in different salinity.

Uncle Po demonstrated the fishes.

It was sea fish feeding in pond.

When some larger fish were found, they would feed in the net which located in the middle of the pond. The pond would remove all water annually and exposure under sunshine for about 2 months.

I represented HKSQ to present the souvenir to Uncle Po.

Group photo took in front of Uncle Po's pond.

After that we had a lunch.

The lunch was arranged by Mr. Kwok Ming Cheung for local farm food.

The first dish was fired pork which was natural feeding.

For baby chicken, there were 60 in each case. When chicken growth, it would be transferred to another case with less density.

The solar energy technique was employed for temperature keeping.

The water was heated in the roof and transferred into the case when there was 10 degree different between the water in the roof and in the tank.

The special water duct (increased the surface area for heat conduction) was employed.

Staff was injected vaccine to chicken.

The large fan used to reduce the temperature inside the chicken house.

Then inject the sperm into hens (female chickens).

The fertilized eggs were collected.
