Xinjiang Trip (新疆之旅)

 Ms. Huang, Jerry Meng, Terence Lam, Florence Chan, Minda Chiang and I found a small group to visit Xinjiang from 10 to 19 July 2025. We took a group photo when arrived airport.

Day 1: 香港 - 烏魯木齊 (20250710)

We took China Southern airline CZ604 to go to Urumqi (烏魯木齊) and started on 16:55.

Minda and I took a photo inside the plane. Since the weather problem, our plane delayed almost 2 hours!

We arrived at Urumqi airport around 1:00 am, but the luggage delivery was very slow and was nearly an hour late!

Then we arrived at the hotel around 2:30am. The travel agent explained the itinerary to us. We went to bed around 3:00am!

Day 2: 天山天池 - S21沙漠公路 - 北屯 (20250711)

We would go to Tianchi (天池) (or Heavenly Lake of Tianshan) in the 2^nd day. Before the journey began, Jerry and I took a photo wearing Xinjiang traditional hats.

Ladies also wore the traditional scarf.

We arrived the entry of Heavenly Lake of Tianshan (天山天池).

Then we took a boat tour on the lake.

Photo of the entire scene were taken.

And then we visited the temple in the island.

After that we arrived the temple and took a group photo.

The scenery outside the temple is beautiful.

After visiting Tianchi, we had lunch at a local restaurant and tasted Xinjiang lamb.

Then we passed the S21 Desert Highway and rested at the service center.

We saw a lot of cattle in the desert.

Finally, we arrived the hotel at night.

We enjoyed our dinner and the special dish called Big Plate Chicken / Dapanji (大盤雞).

Day 3: 喀纳斯 - 禾木村 (20250712)

In the morning, we had breakfast in the hotel.

In the way to Kanas (喀纳斯), we took a rest on the road and took a group photo.

Very beautiful scene.

We also saw many wind turbines!

Then we arrived the Kanas Old Village and going to the Moon Bay of Kanas Lake.

Minda and I took a photo in front of the Moon Bay of Kanas Lake (月亮湖).

Then we took a group photo.

When we left, I took a full scene photo of Kanas National Geopark entry building.

That night we arrived at Kansi Hemu Resort (禾木山莊), where we were staying.

We had dinner inside the resort.

Day 4: 禾木山莊 - 烏爾禾 (20250713)

In day 4, we visited the Hemu Resort (禾木山莊) in the morning. Terence and Florence, Minda and I took a photo in front of the hotel.

And then we gathered with Ms. Haung and Jerry Meng to take a shuttle bus to go to the another Hemu station.

We took a photo in front of the entry.

Minda and I took a photo under two bridges, one glass and the other wooden.

After that we passed the Hemu bridge.

Minda and I took a photo on the bridge and saw the river.

Finally, everyone took a group photo on the beach.

After leaving Hemu Resort, we found a rest stop to have lunch and saw the large cassette player coffee shop.

Then we had lunch in here.

Outside the restaurant, there has yurt (蒙古包). Ms. Huang, Florence and Minda took a photo together.

We crossed the desert to Urho (烏爾禾).

Lastly, we had dinner near our hotel.

Day 5: 世界魔鬼城 - 雙河 (20250714)

We arrived the Urho Devil City.

Minda and I took a photo in front of the Devil City entry.

We took a tourist train to visit the Devil City.

I recorded a short video of the Devil City scene on the train.

Then we rode camels.

We filmed the camel riding scene.

After finished the journey, we took a group photo in front of camels.

And then Jerry Meng took a small plane.

Terence Lam and Florence Chan took another small plane.

After finishing the flight experience, we went to another scene, which was the filming location of seven swords approach Tian Shan Mountain (七劍下天山).

We took a photo on the desert.

Group photo was taken in front of the Gate of God (神藏之門)

When we left, we brought some souvenir which handmade onsite.

And then we had lunch outside.

It is our first time to eat a special fish named Chinese sturgeon (中華鱘).

On the way to hotel, we saw Xinjiang cotton fields (新疆棉花田).

Fortunately, we met the owner of the land who grew cotton. He was under 新疆生產建設兵團農5師90團. The cotton would be received in September by machine.

Three ladies rode the owner's motorcycle to take photos.

We then took a group photo with the owner for memory.

The owner recommended that we go to eat Xinjiang fruits near his cotton fields.

Finally we arrived at this very traditionally designed hotel.

Our hotel room in the building named Ming Li Building (明理樓).

Lastly, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 6: 雙河 - 賽里木湖 (20250715)

We arrived at Sayram Lake (賽里木湖).　Before entering the lake, ladies brought some traditional clothing.

Coffee is very important to Minda!

We drove along the lake and stopped in the courier station (古時驛站).

Minda and I took a photo with the blue sky.

Minda and Florence danced in front of the courier station.

The full view showed red road where you can stop and view the lake.

Florence rock climbing as our background photo.

There were landmark for 1314 meaning love forever (一生一世).

Afterwards we had fish lunch at a restaurant by the lake.

Outside the restaurant, Terence, Florence and Minda took a photo with the young girl polices (who was practicing).

Afterwards, they invited Jerry Meng to take a photo together, but everyone left only Meng Zherui.

Then it was raining and we went to hotel.

Our hotel named Saihu Impression Hotel.

We had eaten too much Xinjiang lamb these days, so we walked a short distance to find another type of restaurant.

Finally, we had good dinner and took a group photo for memory.

Day 7: 那拉提空中草原-那拉提鎮 (20250716)

Before leaving, Minda and I took a photo of our hotel. We stayed on the second floor.

Very nice holiday home.

I took a photo in the Sayram Lake Tourism College (賽里木湖旅遊學院) for memory. 

We passed the Guozigou Bridge (果子溝大橋).

Then we took a rest in service station.

And then we found a place for lunch.

Waiters were students from Kazakhs in China (中國哈薩克族).

After that we arrived Nalati (拿拉提).

Minda and I took photos in front of the "Nalati" stone sculpture.

And we went to the cable car.

Group photo was taken inside the cable car.

When we arrived the top, we saw the grass sliding area.

We took a photo with Nalati famous “Sky Prairie” (空中草原) in Xinjiang.

Then we took photos in front of the yurt.

Full scene of prairie was showed.

Finally, we shot some aerial videos.

We arrived the hotel near Nalati and took a photo in front of the hotel.

There is a very beautiful garden in the hotel and we had dinner near the garden.

Our room number is lucky.

Day 8: 那拉提镇 - 精河 (20250717)

In the morning, we had breakfast in the hotel.

Unfortunately, there was heavy traffic in the morning. Due to the Duku mudslide road closure (獨庫泥石流封路), we have agreed to change the itinerary.

We saw many cows on the hillside.

Since we changed the itinerary to go to Jinghe (精河), we only had quite lunch in service center.

And then we had dinner in the Lucaogou (盧草溝).

This is the earliest dinner in the whole trip.

At night, we arrived the Jinghe (精河).

We went into the hotel.

Terence, Florence and I had a late night snack.

Day 9: 獨山子大峽谷 - 烏魯木齊 (20250718)

In the last day, we had very simple breakfast in the hotel.

Then we drove towards Duku Highway from the other side.

We arrived the DuShanZi Grand Canyon (獨山子大峽谷).

The three ladies took a photo in front of the lucky big rock.

Minda and I took a photo in front of the DuShanZi brand.

Then we took the roller coaster down to the canyon.

I recorded the roller coaster ride.

The roller coaster track has many turns.

Full scene of the canyon was taken.

We had lunch inside the DuShanZi Grand Canyon.

Our travel agent & driver led us to buy some Xinjiang Souvenirs.

After Mr. On took us to the hotel, he took a photo with us.

It is our last night. We selected a special restaurant named “Afternoon Tea at Alerham” (阿勒爾罕的下午茶).

There had many dancing shows.

I recorded one near our table.

Finally, we had a very special Xinjiang foods.

Florence joined them in the dance and she danced very well! Our journey ended successfully.

Day 10: 烏魯木齊 - 香港 (20250719)

On the last day, we arrived at the airport in the morning.

Minda and I took a photo at the airport for memory.

Say goodbye to Xinjiang.

We were on the same flight as the Hong Kong superstar (叻哥). Jerry, Ms. Huang and I took a photo with him.

Lastly, everyone took a group photo, marking the successful end of the trip to Xinjiang.
