HKSQ Seminar on ASQ Certification Process

2018 marks the 50^th anniversary of ASQ’s Certification Programs. HKSQ and ASQ Hong Kong co-organized a seminar named “ASQ Certification Process: A Sharing Session” on 7^th Dec 2018. The seminar aimed to introduce ASQ Certificate, HKSQ BoK Workshop and new online examination and re-certification. Before the seminar, we took a group photo with guest speakers.

Dr. Albert Tsang was the first speaker and he introduced ASQ Certification and its key benefits for individuals.

ASQ Certification separated into three levels and they were Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level. Only Advanced level needs to re-certificate per every 3 years.

Dr. Albert Tsang briefed the new practice of the examination using Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format. There are 6 exam per year upto 102 day per year. Turnaround on retesting is 2-month intervals. Time to get test results would be 0 to 4 days depended on what type of exam you participated.

Finally, Dr. Albert Tsang briefed HKSQ service on ASQ examination and our BOK workshops included CMQ/OC, CSSBB, CQE and CRE.

Mr. Kevin Yau was the second speaker and his topic named “ASQ Exam Online Application and CBT Exam Sharing”. His sharing included online application, scheduling ASQ exam through Prometric, Test Centre and Check-in & Check-out procedure.

He demonstrated ASQ Exam Online Application to us that either you use ASQ member login or create your login account.

After selected the certificate, location and schedule, you would be noticed through email. The exam location was in Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority at RM 501 HKEA San Po Kong Sub-office, 17 Tsuek Luk Street, San Po Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The test center photos were demonstrated.

The floor plan was showed. During the exam, the whole exam process would be recorded under CCTV camera. Participants should go through sign out and check-in procedures if he/she went to the restroom or access their locker.

Mr. Kevin Yau said you would receive CBT exam demo to practice before exam.

Mr. Karson Chui was the last speaker and his talk entitled “ASQ Re-Certification Online”. He said there were two way to recertify that were by Exam or by Journal.

Usually, most of ASQ certified professional employed by Journal recertification method. However, ANQ’s online recertification app starting on 1^st Jan 2019.
