HKSQ AGM 2017 and Extenics Seminar

HKSQ Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 28 July 2017 and a seminar named “Extenics – A Novel Innovation Theory and Methodology originated in China” was presented by myself. I would like to share both HKSQ AGM 2017 and Seminar below. Firstly, Mr. Peter Fung (Immediate Past Chairman, HKSQ) held the meeting and briefed the Chairman report to all members. Until now, HKSQ has 323 individual members, 2 student members and 11 corporate members (by invitation only). Then Peter briefed HKSQ activities in 2016/2017 including study mission, technical visit, international networking and student project competition in Sanmina –SCI (China) Limited.

After that I as Hon. Treasurer presented HKSQ financial status in the official report. We had some surplus in last year. Then I suggested increasing of individual members and high reputation corporate members to get sustainable financial income so as to support our international networking to build our brand continuously.

I was honor to select to be Chairman again for 2017/2018. Some member gave a slogan “Chairman Return”. The nominations of Office Bearers in 2017/2018 were shown below.

I shared my vision for coming HKSQ goal that we needed to be youth so as to attract young members and our internal processes enhancement through more IT adoption, as well as, promoting Quality Innovation such as Extenics or other innovation tools and systems.

After that I was the guest speaker in AGM seminar guest speaker and my topic named “Extenics – A Novel Innovation Theory and Methodology originated in China”. Firstly, I introduced my journey of Extenics Learning since Feb 2016. I went to the Shenzhen and Guangzhou for several seminars and meetings, as well as, visited the Institute of Extenics and Innovation Methods, Guangdong University of Technology.

Then I introduced the founder of the Extenics was Prof. Cai Wen who started to study the theory since 1976 and his first paper named “Extension Set and Incompatible Problem” which was published in 1983. Based on this paper, the new China Originated Scientific Subject was born.

Since I arranged the one of keynotes for Prof. Cai Wen to introduce Extenics in the first World Summit for Chinese Quality (WSCQ) on 8 July 2016. CAQ was realized this innovation method originated in China and then invited us to prepare articles for their journal named “China Quality” and our papers were published in Jan 2017.

After that I shared my experience on joining the Extension Innovation Method Trainer training from level 1 to level 3. Minda and I attended 12 days training from Mar to May 2017. We learnt the fundamental theory included Extenics Set, The 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Creative Method, Extension Innovation Method – 4 steps method, etc.

Moreover, I wrote four articles to introduce Quality Innovation – Extenics in am730 so as to promote the Extenics Seminar on 28 April 2017 in CityU. I also introduced the coming activities that I would present Extenics application in different topics in ANQ Congress 2017 in Nepal, IAQ Symposium in Slovenia, the 2^nd WSCQ in Taiwan, etc.

I briefed the Extenics was a cross-discipline subject of philosophy, Mathematics & Engineering; as well as the bridge between Natural Science and Social Science. After study for a year, I understood that the foundation of the Extenics was the Extension Set. One modified set equation formed a whole innovation subject.

And then I introduced the Basic-element (基元) included matter-element (物元), affair-element (事元) and relation-element (關係元), which were the fundamental elements of Extension Innovation Method – 4 Steps Method.

The frequently used extension analysis was Divergence in which object, characteristic and value could be changed so as to create different ideas or new product features.

I also mentioned one of most important analysis tools in the Extenics was “Conjugate Analysis” which looking the product into four dimensions and they were Physical, Systematic, Dynamic and Antithetic.

Finally, I briefed some cases such as AI and Car Rental. In Car Rental, I used affair-element to express the action of rent taxi. If we changed the object, characteristic and value, a new business model would be generated such as Uber, Uber Pool, Pink, etc.

At the end, I used my company case as Service Innovation example to explain how I employ the Extenics to generate new idea that we transferred our internal service to assist startup in Science Park.
