HKSQ
organized a technical visit to Shenzhen Academy of Metrology & Quality
Inspection (SMQ) (深圳市计量质量检测研究院) on 1st Dec 2023. In order to
promote the reform of statutory institutions, Shenzhen Academy of Metrology
& Quality Inspection (深圳市計量品質檢測研究院（簡稱深檢院）) wholly-owned established Shenzhen Academy of
Metrology & Quality Inspection (Group) Co., Ltd. (深圳市計量品質檢測研究院（集團）有限責任公司（簡稱深檢集團）), further release the vitality of the Academy
through market-oriented operations, escort the industrial layout of Shenzhen
and even the Bay Area across the country, build Shenzhen's high-tech producer
service industry brand, become the leader in China's quality service
professional field and strive to become a world-class technical institution. We
took a photo in the building of the Academy.

took a photo in front of the entry of SMQ.
In
the beginning, Mr. Charlie Shi (Assistant Director, SMQ) introduced the history
and qualification, as well as, different accreditation of SMQ to us.
One
of certificates is related to the service of network security testing and
inspection assessment. It is recently issued and first institute achieved in
Shenzhen.
Then
we visited the large EMC chamber. It can test electric car.
And
then we took a group photo inside the chamber.

There
are many EMC testing laboratories for different electronic products.
Testing
smartphone radiation affect human body was observed.
Over-the-air
(OTA) Testing Lab facility setting was demonstrated.
5G
testing system was found to be made by China!
Small
area with mesh cover is designed for drone testing.
After
that we visited Cyber Security Testing Lab.
The
laboratory services were included Source Code Detection, Penetration Test,
Vulnerability Mining and Analysis, Evaluation of Classified Protection,
Performance Test, APP Test, Cybersecurity Skills Training System, Network
Traffic Analysis.
And
then Dr. Jane Wong (Chairman, HKSQ) presented HKSQ flag and 35th
anniversary book to Mr. Fong (Leader of SMQ)
Finally,
SMQ InfoSec expert introduce the Academy and InfoSec services to us. Firstly,
he briefed the background of the academy that they had four foundation laboratories
and seven national centers with more than 2700 staff.
Then
he mentioned different services and standards in the Cyber Security Laboratory.
Different
analysis and inspection tools were briefed.
Finally,
he stated the data security service model to us. He said data protection is
different to network protection. Since data needs to flow to create value,
protection of transmission paths is very important.
Then
we took a group photo again. Aaron came late but attended the last visit and the
talk.

After the visit, some of members want to the South Gate of Nantou
Ancient City in Shenzhen, China. (南頭古城).
