Cloud
Forum on Extenics 2020 is organized by Chinese Association for Artificial
Intelligence (CAAI) and coorganized by Extenics Professional Committee of CAAI
on 26th July 2020 through Tencent Meeting. (由中國人工智能學會主辦, 中國人工智能學可拓學專業委員會承辦的 “2020年可拓學雲論壇”, 于今年7月26日在“騰訊會議” 線上網絡平台上舉辦.) I was honor to be invited as
one of speaker in the forum.

Chairs (論壇主席):
Prof.
Yang Chunyan楊春燕教授
(廣東工業大學可拓學與創新方法研究所所長, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會主任) chaired the morning session and Prof.
Liu Wei 劉巍教授 (大連海事大學理學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會學術委員會主任) chaired the afternoon
session. In the beginning, Prof. Yang
gave welcome speech.
Prof.
Cai Wen(蔡文教授) (可拓學創始人, 國家級有突出貢獻專家, 中國科協特聘“全國可拓學首席科學傳播專家”, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會榮譽主任) is the first speaker
and his topic entitled“Extenics and Basic Research”(可拓學與基礎研究).
Prof. Cai’s contents included the bottleneck of basic research,
intelligent society, fundamental theory of extenics and its positioning, as
well as, extenics future development.
Prof.
Cai stated from mathematics model to extension model through matter-element. It
is the earliest study and fundamental of extenics. Then he briefed the whole theory of extenics.
Finally,
Prof. Cai status five dimensions of future development below:
1.
To
establish a science cluster to complete the theory and methodology of extenics
2.
To
development the intelligent contradiction problem solving and leading in the
world
3.
To
research and development the smart computing that can solving contradiction
problem and innovation
4.
To
expand the application of extenics and extension innovation method
5.
To
made extension products popular
Prof.
ZhaoYanwei (趙燕偉教授)
(浙江工業大學機械工程學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會副主任) was the second speaker
and her presentation named “Extension Intelligent Coordination Method for
Complex Technology Contradiction” (面向複雜技術衝突的可拓智能協調方法).
Firstly, she introduced her long term study on Extension Design.
Then
she mentioned the complex product design based on knowledge. Extension knowledge model for low carbon
design was through construction of Know-What, Know-How, Know-Why knowledge
elements based on basic-element.
Prof.
Zhao also introduced the implied transformation coordination through Markov
Models. It integrated extenics theory and AI theory (that Markov Model
mentioned different status change). Finally, she briefed many her recently
research topics and case studies.
Prof. Tian Yingjie (田英杰教授) (中國科學院大學經濟與管理學院副院長, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會常務委員) was the third speaker and his topic was “Several Researches on the Integration of Core Method and Extenics” (核方法及其可拓學結合的若干研究). He focused on machine learning method and integrated with extenics theory.
After
briefed the Support Vector Machine and Loss Function, Prof. Tian introduced
Extension SVM that using extension transformation to present the
characteristics before and after such tranformation, so as to enhance the
classification effectiveness.
Prof.
Yang Guowei (楊國為教授)
(南京審計大學信息工程學院院長, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會副主任) was the fourth speaker
and his presentation title was “The Extension Pattern Recognition for Open Set”
(可拓模式開集識別). It is a machine could
identify status before and after transformation.
Lastly,
Prof. Yang mentioned the closure pack learning and the design of Extension
Pattern Recognition for Open Set.
Prof.
Qin Jianjun (秦建軍教授)
(北京建築大學機電與車輛工程學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會副秘書長) was the fifth speaker
and his topic entitled “Research on Spraying Model and Path Planning of Inner
Surface of Reactor based on extenics” (基于可拓學的反應釜內表面噴涂模型及路徑規劃研究).
In the beginning, Prof. Qin introduced the whole process of spraying for inner surface of reactor.
After
that Prof. Qin mentioned employing extenics theory to solving this
contradiction problem.
The
sixth speaker was Dr. Wang Tichun(王體春副教授)
(南京航空航天大學機電學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會委員) and his presentation named “Preliminary
Discussion on Application of Extension Intelligent Design in Complex
Engineering” (可拓智能設計在複雜工程領域中應用的初步探討).
Firstly,
Dr. Wang briefed the concept of extension intelligent design included extenics,
intelligent design and engineering application which could employ for airplane
and car design.
After
that he briefed difference case studies and one of them employed entension
theory in neural network (NN) for failure diagnosis.
The
last speaker of morning session was Dr. Tang Long (湯龍副教授) (廣東工業大學可拓學與創新方法研究所所長助理, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會青年部副部長) and his topic entitled
“Extension Theory and Research Progress of Extension Strategy Generation” (可拓論與可拓策略生成研究進展). He briefed some background of Extenics
firstly.
Then
Dr. Tang introduced the research progress on basic-element theory and extension
set theory.
After
that Dr. Tang briefed a new basic-element related to field. It defined field basic-element, field
matter-element and dynamic field matter-element. (My comments: it could compare with TRIZ Substance-Field
(Su-field) Modeling.)
Lastly,
Dr. Tang introduce the research of extension strategic generation from HowNet database
and Gene Expression Programming (GEP).
Afternoon,
Prof. Liu Wei 劉巍教授
(大連海事大學理學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會學術委員會主任) chaired this session.
The
first speaker of afternoon session was Prof. Zhang Lingling (張玲玲教授) (中國科學院大學管理學院黨委書記, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會副秘書長) and her presentation
entitled “Intelligent Knowledge Management and Extenics” (智能知識管理與可拓學).
Firstly,
Prof. Zhang asked two questions. First question was the applicability of the
knowledge from data mining and the second question was Do data mining neglect
expect opinion and experience? Then she
introduced the second time of data mining that could transform raw knowledge to
subjective knowledge and intelligent knowledge.
Finally, Prof. Zhang introduced extension transformation process and the future research direction included intelligent knowledge acquisition under big data employing extenics.
Prof.
Li Xingsen (李興森教授)
(廣東工業大學可拓學與創新方法研究所副所長, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會副主任兼秘書長) was the second speaker
in afternoon session and his presentation title was “Basic-element Material
Library and Basic-element Intelligent Construction in Big Data Environment” (大數據環境下的基元素材庫及基元智能構建).
Prof.
Li mainly introduced the establishment of basic-element database from knowledge
graph.
At
the end, Prof. Li demonstrated his research on the basic-element database and
basic-element material database.
Prof.
Jiang Fan (江帆教授)
(廣州大學機械與電氣工程學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會委員) was the third speaker and his
topic named “Research on Extension of TRIZ Method” (TRIZ 方法的可拓化研究).
He introduced different TRIZ tools in terms of extenics.
Firstly, Prof. Jiang briefed the different between TRIZ and Extenics that TRIZ is three steps (Describe problem, Analysis and Solution Evaluation) and Extension Innovation Method is four steps (Model-Extension-Transformation-Selection). Then he commented the characteristics among them.
After
that Prof. Jiang briefed different TRIZ tools or model in terms of Extenics
model. Lastly, he concluded that most
TRIZ solution could be explained by Extension Transformation and TRIZ could
provide reference path for Extension Innovation Method.
The
fourth speaker was Dr. Cui Tiejun(崔鐵軍副教授)
(遼寧工程技術大學礦業災害感知協同創新中心及智能礦山協同創新中心主任, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會委員) and his presentation title was “Extenics
and Safety Science” (可拓學與安全科學).
Dr.
Cui briefed his research on space failure network and its evolution process.
Finally,
he tried to use Extenics to present the system safety concept and integrated
between Extenics and Safety Science.
Dr.
Lai Kim-hung, Lotto (黎劍虹特約教授)
(香港品質學會會長, 香港城市大學系統工程及工程管理學系, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會委員) was the fifth speaker and his
presentation topic named “Extenic Promotion and Recently Research in Hong Kong”
(“可拓學”在香港的推廣分享及近期的研究).
In the first part, Dr. Lai briefed his related activities on Extenics including exchange tours, seminar, summit and international conference in 2019. He also introduced his new books “Extenics: The logic of Innovation” which was published in Dec 2019 and distributed to HKSQ members on Jan 2020. Moreover, he was interviewed by CityU and this interview published in newspaper. And then Dr. Lai established Extenics Channel in YouTube to explain Extension Innovation Method in 4 steps (METS) in 2020.
In
the second part, Dr. Lai mentioned all his research on Extenics since 2016.
Those research topics included “Quality Innovation – Introduction of Extenics
and Integrated System Approach”, “Service Innovation using Extenics”, “Extenics
+ Quality Startup Management System”, “Extenics Six Sigma Approach” and “QMS
based Innovation Management System with Extension Innovation Methodology” as
well as, recently “Extension Business Innovation Model Approach”.
Finally,
he concluded some research directions such as business strategy generation,
Extenics + TRIZ, Integrated management system with Extenics, Creative thinking
for primary & secondary school and research problem solving in university.
The
sixth speaker was Dr. Gao Hong (高紅副教授)
(大連海事大學理學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會常務委員) and her presentation
named “Research on Control Theory of Network Topology Structure Graph Based on
Extenics” (基于可拓學的網絡拓扑結構圖控制理論研究).
Dr.
Gao research related to strategy for military arrangement for protecting
country.
She
was found that using Extension Transformation could express such strategy more
efficiency than traditional mathematical model. It could help to get solution faster and explain
the arrangement clearly.
The
seventh speaker was Dr. Wang Tao (王濤副教授)
(北京理工大學設計與藝術學院, CAAI 可拓學專業委員會常務委員) and her topic named “Extension
analysis of the protection status of traditional villages in Beijing, Tianjin
& Hebei Province and the reconstruction of Zhang Shibin's former residence
(京津冀傳統村落保護現狀與張士賓故居改造案例可拓分析). Firstly, she presented “Report on the
Research of Traditional Villages in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province” for
background information.
Then
she said there were four steps which need to do for protecting former residence
below:
1.
Protect
production and life style
2.
Advanced
construction and management idea two way movement
3.
Sustainable
development of cities and towns
4.
Consolidate
the agricultural basis
Finally,
Dr. Wang demonstrated how she employed extenics tools on solving different
problem in her topic.
The
last speaker was Dr. Hong Huanhuan (洪歡歡助理研究員) (寧波大學高等技術研究院,
CAAI 可拓學專業委員會委員) and his topic presented
was “Extension Integration Innovation and Protection” (可拓集成創新與保護).
In
the beginning, Dr. Hong briefed Mainland Government focused on Innovation and
IP Protection.
Then
he compared TRIZ and Extenics in Background, Source of Innovation, Core, Versatility,
Systematical and Type of Contradiction.
Finally,
Dr. Hong introduced different Extenics related projects and focused on the
innovation and technology transfer process, as well as, the IP protection of
the final product.
The
Cloud Forum on Extenics
2020 was completed successfully. I
suggested we opened the webcam to take a group photo online at the end.
