Pre-ANQ Congress 2018 City Tour in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Pre-ANQ City Tour (18 Sep 2018)

Minda and I went to Almaty, Kazakhstan for ANQ Congress 2018. Before the congress, we had city tour and the first location named “First President of Kazakhstan” which we had visited on 2011.

Our personal tour guide named Quanysheva Gainel and she led us for one day city tour. The tour is US$60-70 per person per day (including car and some ticket fee).

Then we went to Panfilov Heroes Nenorial Park that we also visited in six years ago.

We saw a temple with Russian style named “The Ascension Cathedral” which was under decoration.

We took a photo in front of Panfilov Guardsmen.

And then we visited Museum of Musical Instruments and saw many different ancient musical instruments. It needed to pay the ticket for visit which included in the tour fee.

I took a photo near cannon.

After that we visited the Green Market.

Almaty is Apple City and we took a photo in front of many apple in the Green Market.

Since we lost the contact of our driver, at that time, we took a car in street for some money and it was the tradition of Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is real sharing economic! (No need Uber)

Then we had lunch in NAVAT restaurant (Fusion Food).

We saw a hat like things and took a photo.

But we were wrong! It used for keeping tea warm!

Minda and I took a photo for ordered foods and we took some traditional foods but it is too many for three people. Some set orders were for 4 to 8 people.

We took a photo in the special decoration.

Kazakh Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra was visited but no performance in our visit period.

We saw a rainbow on the fountain!

After that we tried the Metro in Almaty.

There were no people in the entry.

Gainel brought tickets for us.

The tunnel was long and deep.

Inside the train, we saw the last station named “Moscow”!

A short video was taken for the train arrival.

We took Metra from Almaty to Abay and tooka photo in front of the famous poet “Abay”.

When we come back and cross the garden, Minda found interesting for a long chair.

Crossing the road, we observed that the blink sign for driver that was different in Hong Kong. We used sound to alert the blink to cross the road or not.

We made a dinner appointment with Dr. Zoie Wong and her husband “Thomas”. We took a photo in front of the restaurant “Zheti Kazyna”. We were late because we waited taxi for 45 min at 6:00pm that was rush hour.
