Remember Dr. CO Chan, ISSC and CityU EngD Society

Just received a sad news from HKSQ former Chairman Dr. Aaron Tong that Dr. CO Chan (President, International Six Sigma Council (ISSC) and founder member of CityU EngD Society) passed away on 1^st Jan 2022. We lost a quality guru in Hong Kong. We, Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ) and CityU EngD Society expressed hearty condolences to Dr. CO Chan’s family, friends and colleagues. Dr. CO Chan is Six Sigma expert, as well as, one of eight founding members of CityU EngD Society in 2005. The photo shows that Dr. CO Chan (Right) presented a luck draw gift to me during Asia Quality Best Practice Award (AQBPA) Ceremony in 2015.

We met many times in quality related activities especially related to Six Sigma such as HKQAA Seminar related to Lean Sigma Green/Black Belt.  He is ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has over 20 years of industrial, training and consultancy experience in the field of business process improvement. He worked with Motorola in the 1990s where he gained first hand perspective and intensive exposure in the application of Six Sigma. His thesis had also studied about SMEs implementation of Lean and Six Sigma.

We almost met every year in ISSC events including Asia Quality Management Symposium, Annual Dinner and Asia Quality Best Practice Award (AQBPA) Ceremony. I would like to summarize all ISSC activates that I participated in the following reference links.

RIP Dr. CO Chan

The Sabbath and funeral was held in church on 21st Jan 2022.
