I was honor that Mr. Solomon Poon
(VP – Quality and Operation Excellence, Sanmina) accompany with his colleagues
of Sanmina-SCI Optical Technology (Shenzhen) Ltd. to visit Laboratories of the
Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) on 19 May 2017. In
the beginning, I briefed the visit agenda and introduced HKSTP &
laboratories background to visitors.
Before visit to laboratories, we took a group photo in my office.
Firstly, we went to the Reliability
Laboratory (RL) and Mr. TM Lau who is laboratory manager introduced the
equipment and testing method.
Then went to Mechanical Workshop
and 3D printing equipment was introduced.
After that we also visit IC
Failure Analysis Laboratory (ICFAL) for IC and material testing. TM briefed the application of FIB and EMMI
equipment.
Then TM introduced our SEM which
test method achieved HOKLAS accreditation to Sanmina.
3D X-ray inspection was also
mentioned.
Finally, we went to the Probe and
Test Development Centre (PTDC) and took a photo in front of the clean room in which
equipment performed IC testing.
After the laboratory visit, we
went to the Charles K. Kao Auditorium (also called Golden Egg) and took a photo
for memory.
I also led them to visit the
auditorium and encourage them to hold their six sigma event in here.
And then we visited Robotic
Workshop.
We also went to the roof garden
in the building “Green 18”.
Lastly, we went to Phase III
Grand Hall and it had performing the 2017 Young Genius (HK) Convention. Many high school students demonstrated their
innovation products and ideas. Mr. Edward Law (Director, Operations, Sanmina)
tried their one hand calculator.
At the end, we took a group photo
in front of Golden Egg.
