We took a photo in front of motto of Shanghai University.
Then Dr. Wang Wen introduced his department to us. He said this was the old campus (Yanchang) and would be moved to new campus (Baoshan). There were about 150 hectares. Dr. Wang briefed the general view of Shanghai University that had 3000 full time staffs where 88 teaching staff in his department; over 30,000 undergraduates and 8,000 post-graduates.
Shanghai University was integrated by four universities included Shanghai University of Techology (1960), Shanghai University of Science and Technology (1958), Shanghai Junior College of Science and Technology (1959) and the former Shanghai University (1983).
Dr. KS Chin (Former Chairman, HKSQ) introduced HKSQ background and mission to Dr. Wang and his colleagues.
Then HKSQ members shared idea for cooperation with Shanghai University such as student internship, research projects, etc.
Before visit, Ms. Minda Chiang (Hon. Secretary, HKSQ) presented HKSQ flag to Dr. Wang Wen.
Then we visited automation laboratory.
The university workshop for bearing was led by Dr. Wang and he explained the technology of bearing they employed.
Some special design was shared such as using centrifuge technique to cast the Cu/Zn alloy inside the stainless steel bearing.
Before leave, Dr. Wang, Dr. KS Chin and I took a photo for memory.
