For the Third InnoHK Research Cluster, Faculty of
Engineering (FENG) organized a Research Salon in Advanced Manufacturing (e.g.
Precision Engineering, Robotics, Systems Control, Microelectronics and other
related topics) to solicit views and ideas from colleagues. In the beginning,
Prof. H.C. Man gave opening speech and introduced the aims of the research salon.
Then Prof. Philip Chan shared his experience and explained
the different focus between ITF and UGC funding.
He also encouraged colleagues to find partners for
InnoHK program.
COMP Dept colleagues had joined this Salon including
Dr. Wang Qixin and Dr. Li Ping.
After the salon, I took a photo with Prof. H.C. Man
for memory.
I also discussed with Prof. Philip Chan and I remembered
his discovery of LED that demonstrated in HKIE EE annual dinner in 2012.
He said the InnoHK focused on technology transfer that
matching my HKIE article named “Fostering enginpreneur: From university to
accelerator in Hong Kong startup ecosystem” published in 2021.
