ICQ 2014 Tokyo – Networking Activities

The International Conference on Quality (ICQ) 2014 in Tokyo, Japan was held on 19-22 October 2014. Prof. Fugee Tsung, Mr. Ivan Ng and I as representatives of Hong Kong Society for Quality joined this conference. I would like to summarize some networking activities included welcome reception, networking lunch & dinner, as well as, Farewell Banquet.

On 19 Oct, Ivan and I arrived on time and attended the welcome reception. We took a photo for memory.

We met Prof. and Mrs. Iizuka.

I met Mr. Anil Sachdev (President, TQM International India), who worked with Mr. Janak Mehta in TQMI, in the same fight and took limousine bus to the Keio Plaza Hotel (Conference Hotel).

I also met Dr. Ngo Van Nhon (Vietnam Quality Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) and Prof. Shu Yamada (University of Tsukuba, Japan).

After the first day of conference, we arranged a networking dinner with Dr. Ngo Van Nhon, Mr. and Mrs. Roland K. Jahnke (Academician, IAQ; Director Deutsche Post DHL).

It was a good seafood and beef!

In the second day of conference, we had lunch with Prof. Kazuyuki Suzuki (Professor, Dept. of Informatics, University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo) and he received The Deming Award for Individual in 2014.

After the conference, we joined the Farewell Banquet and enjoy the dinner, as well as, Japanese Traditional Performance. Ivan and I took a photo in front of the banner.

Fugee came later and we took a photo too.

In the beginning of the banquet, hosts hit the drum.

Then Mr. Masahiro Sakane (Councilor, Komatsu; and Chairman, Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers) gave the closing speech.

I met Acn. Shan Rupral JM (President, APQO and National Chairman, Australian Organization for Quality (AOQ)). We knew each other through LinkedIn and we took a photo for memory.
