I was waiting outside the auditorium.
Prof. Kao arrived.
Short meeting before the ceremony (*Photo source from reference 1)
Mr. Nicholas Brooke (Chairman of HKSTP) gave an opening speech.
Mr. Donald Tsang (The Chief Executive of HKSAR) introduced Charles K. Kao (Nobel laureate in Physics 2009 dubbed the “Father of Fiber Optics”) and his contribution in Hong Kong Science Park. Charles K. Kao was one of directors in the first board of directors in Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.
Mrs. Kao presented for Prof. Kao and thanked for all supporters. She also pointed out to the importance of public awareness and government support to Alzheimer's disease.
A short video about Prof. Charles K. Kao’s contribution was shown.
Group photo for the naming ceremony
Mr. Brooke presented a HKSTP souvenir to Prof. Kao.
Finally, Prof. Kao and all guests took a group photo outside the auditorium.
(Above photo is from reference 1.)
When Prof. Kao and Mrs. Kao left, they looked so happy and said good bye to all.
After the event, I took a photo inside the auditorium for memory.
I am happy to have a photo with Prof. Yang (BCH Dept., CityU).
During the event, I met Prof. Ching (Chairman of HKCTC) and Dr. TL Ng (Honorary Chairman of HKQAA).
I wish the wave of Prof. Kao could enhance science and technology development in Hong Kong.
