FHKI - ISO 9001 Certificate Presentation Ceremony

In celebration for the achievement of Re-Audit ISO 9001 certification, an ISO 9001 Certificate Presentation Ceremony was conducted at FHKI Secretariat Office on 16^th Dec 2025. I (Member of ISO Steering Committee & Honor Advisor of Compliance Committee) was honor to be invited for joining the ceremony. I took a photo with Dr. Jackie Ng (Chairlady of Compliance Committee) and Ms. Estella Kwan before the ceremony.

Firstly, Mr. Anthony Lam (Chairman of FHKI) gave opening speech and recognized the FHKI team effort for achieving ISO 9001 certification with zero NC. He said it would be extended to green field for FHKI management system.

Then Ms. Kit Yung (Business Director, ACI) represented the ACI to congratulate FHKI ISO 9001 achievement and continuous improvement.

And then Mr. Thomas Yu (Customer Success Director, Gabriel Consultant) thanked FHKI fully supported for ISO 9001 QMS and fulfilled all requirements.

After that Ms. Kit Yung on behalf of ACI to present the ISO 9001 certificate to Mr. Anthony Lam.

Mr. Anthony Lam appreciated FHKI management team and invite them to take a photo together.

Then he also invited all General Committee members for group photo.

And then he invited all guests to take a group photo together.

I also took a photo with Anthony Lam with ISO 9001 certificate for memory.

Anthony introduced Dr. Alfred Ng (Right 1st) to me and his doctoral degree was obtained from MIT, specializing in artificial intelligence. Then I took a photo with Anthony, Mr. Jude Chow (Group 26 Chairman), Ms. Estella Kwan and Dr. Alfred Ng (Group 5 Chairman).

Lastly, I took a photo with Ms. Bonnie Chan (Director-General, FHKI) and Mr. Calvin Cheung (Operations Head, FHKI).

FHKI the 3rd Compliance Committee Meeting

I am honor to be Honourable Compliance Advisor in Compliance Committee of FHKI and attended the 3^rd committee meeting on 21^st Nov 2025. We focused on corporate governance and ISO management systems.

FHKI - ISO 37001 Certificate Presentation Ceremony

I (Member of ISO Steering Committee & Honor Advisor of Compliance Committee) was honor to be invited for joining the ISO 37001 Certificate Presentation Ceremony on 13 Dec 2024. Awarded ISO 37001 certification, marking another milestone for the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) apart from ISO 9001.

When I arrived the FHKI’s main office, I took a photo with the Christmas decorations on the logo.

I met Mr. Calvin Cheung (COO, FHKI) and Ms. Clara Chan (Executive Deputy Chairlady, FHKI). I remembered our first committee meeting was held in 2021.

During the ceremony, Mr. Steve Chuang (Chairman, FHKI) gave opening speech and celebrated for the achievement of ISO 37001 qualification by ACI (Certification Body). ISO 37001 Anti-bribery management systems enhanced our creditability for business worldwide especially Belt and Road Initiative.

Then Ms. Kit Yung (Business Director, ACI) gave a guest speech and she appreciated top management of FHKI fully support to implement ISO 37001.

And then Mr. Thomas Yu thanked FHKI fully supported for this project and achieved the implementation requirements.

Finally, all FHKI members and committee members took a group photo.

Compliance committee took a photo for memory. Ms. Clara Chan was former chairlady and Ms. Jackie Ng was current chairlady of compliance committee.

Lastly, I also took a photo with Mr. Steve Chuang (Chairman, FHKI) for this remarkable achievement.

At the end, I took a photo with that certificate that I completed the promise to Dr. Sunny Chai when I was invited to be advisor in 2021. I remembered he told be about ISO 37000. Since it is a guideline, I proposed to achieve ISO 9001 first as foundation and the seek to enhancement. Finally, FHKI achieved both ISO 9001 and ISO 37001 certificates.

FHKI – The 1st Compliance Committee Meeting 2024

I am honor to be invited to service FHKI as Honourable Compliance Advisor in Compliance Committee in 2023-2025. The first formal meeting was held onsite and online on 15^th Mar 2025. I joined onsite in the FHKI office.

Ms. Jackie Ng is the committee chairlady; Dr. Jacky Cheung and I are Honorary Advisor again. Committee members included Mr. Bill Li, Mr. Daniel Fung, Ms. Estella Kwan, Ms. Loretta Fong and Mr. Nick Chan. Finally, we took a group photo in Zoom for memory.

We reviewed the code of conduct document and ISO issues. The committee will held meeting once per half year. Before I left, I took a photo with Mr. Calvin Cheung (Head of Operation, FHKI).

FHKI Certification Framework of STEM Products - Educators Seminar

Certification Framework of STEM Products - Educators Seminar was organized by FHKI on 12^th July 2023. This project focus on establishing and promoting a STEM product certification framework to STEM product manufacturers and educators to identify and categorized STEM products, as well as, to improve students’ learning experience. Before the meeting, I met Prof. Winco KC Yung (ISE Dept., PolyU) and Mr. Steve Chuang (Chairman, HKEIC (Group 5); Founder & CEO, Precision Enterprise Ltd – ProVista Group) and took a photo for memory.

In the beginning, Mr. Steve Chuang gave an opening speech. He briefed many industrialists had experience on industry issues when they were child. He was influenced by his father to study electronic. Therefore, STEM education is very important for young students.

Then all guests took a group photo.

And then Mr. Peter Shum (Chairman, Hong Kong Information Technology Industry Council (Group 25)) introduced the Innovation and Technology (I&T) Development Council that established since 2013.

He also briefed 8 key areas HKSAR government invested directions for I&T development.

Education Technology Sub-committee aimed to connect industry and education through STEM education so as to nutrient I&T talents.

Lastly, Mr. Shum concluded three directions for promoting STEM education and they were Tool, Talent and Venue.

Prof. Winco KC Yung was the first speaker and his topic named “Framework Development for the Certification of STEM Products”. He said this framework is fundamental and could be extended to STEAM (plus Art) and STREAM (plus Art & Research) in future. Thus, this framework had patent filed.

Firstly, Prof. Yung mentioned the definition of STEM product that is a product help users apply knowledge and skills from the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to design, use, develop and innovate. STEM products three categories were briefed including Theories, Bridge and Realize.

And then he showed the overall certification framework for STEM products that assessment based on Design, Making and Assignment (DMA) and Integrated Product Development (IPD) techniques.

After that Prof. Yung briefed the five certification procedures from submission to examination to evaluation and certification, finally announcement and grant.

Finally, he shared the evaluation step that including STEM literacy, Product features and General abilities. Some product examples were demonstrated.

Lastly, Prof. Winco Yung stated the benefit of the frameworks for different stockholders. Those benefits included a guide for purchasing decisions, product reliability, user protection, support for sustainable choices, etc.

The second speaker was Mr. Ho Tik Shun (School Principal, The Chinese Foundation Secondary School (CFSS)) and he introduced the 21^st Century Education in CFSS. Firstly, he shared their mission to help students to achieve personal excellence through nurturing in them a set of positive values and developing their social and learning attitudes as well as their professional competence which are conducive to life-long learning.

Mr. Ho mentioned 21^st Century skills in CFSS included whole person development, self-directed learning and life-long learning. Since his background in biology, he led a project for biodiversity through IT mobile apps started from tree.

During Covid period, CFSS employed different healthy technology for students’ sport.

Finally, he introduced their inter-disciplinary education for STREAM and its achievements.

The last speaker was Mr. Kim Au (Principal, Caritas Wu Cheng-Chung Secondary School) and he introduce their school on Cheerful, Warm, Collaborative and Confident. Firstly, he questioned what are the definition of STEM, STEAM and STREAM because different people had different definition by themselves.

After that he thought about the future jobs for students. Most jobs of top 10 and highest paying job from 2025 to 2050 predicted that were not related to existing industries. Thus, how education adopt the future trend is critical.

Finally, he mentioned the external school review (ESR) was important for improvement. He employed a statement as conclusion that “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Q&A Session.

They discussed STEM product that should be well planned with education package, considering user experience (including teachers and students), product producers should understand the education requirements, value to money, etc.

Outside the meeting room, there are some STEM product demonstration cases. One of interested medical product with STEM element for student programming for monitoring their parent or grand-parent health data.

Another one of STEM product related to space technology.

FHKI the 722nd General Committee Meeting

I was honor as an observer to attend the 722^nd General Committee Meeting of FHKI on 27^th Jun 2023. I took a photo in the entry for memory. It is almost two years without visit FHKI during Covid-19 pandemic.

Today meeting, Fire Services Department (FSD) was invited to introduce Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to committee members.

Every participant has AED souvenir. I also asked any maintenance need for AED. The representative said it had self-diagnostic and no need to maintenance upto 5 years.
