COMP Leaping Venture - Departmental Entrepreneurship Fund Pitch Meeting 2026

COMP Leaping Venture - Departmental Entrepreneurship Fund Pitch Meeting was held on 24^th Jul 2026. There are many teams join the pitch meeting for the fund this time. It aims to support COMP members who would like to create the commercial impact by entrepreneurship. After meeting, all judges took a group photo for memory. 

After the meeting, I joined Dr. Jeff Tang and Dr. Raymond Pang lunch with their former HKPC colleagues included Mr. CW Yiu and Ricky.

ACP Steering Committee Meeting for IT System 2026

The third steering committee meeting was held on 12^th Jul 2026 in ActiveCarePharmacy Limited (ACP) head office and we took a photo for memory. Peter updated the new situation and Matthew reviewed the whole project budget.

We left and took a photo in front of ACP main entry. Peter and Hubert had appointment in Mainland China. Vincent also had another appointment.

After the meeting, Matthew and I had lunch and discussed the capstone projects.

Dinner with Prof. YC Chau and his MSc Students

Prof. YC Chau (Adjunct Professor, SYE & Academy of Innovation, CityU) invited me to have dinner with his two students in PolyU on 28^th Jan 2026. They are Zhou Xuecheng (周學成) and Zhang Jiahao (張佳豪) both studied MSc in Venture Creation, Academy of Innovation, CityU. Mr. Zhang Jiahao had graduated and won TECH 300 program. Mr. Zhou Xuecheng started his project for startup too.

The Master of Science in Venture Creation (MSVC) programme is designed to equip recent graduates, aspiring entrepreneurs and working professionals with comprehensive knowledge and the skills needed for successful venture creation. I hope they can both successfully realize their entrepreneurial dreams. One of requirements for passing MSVC program is to identify CityU’s IP and make them commercially viable.

HKTDC Entrepreneur Day and Tea with Dr. KS Chin & Mr. SW Lam

After ALTAI ISO meeting, Dr. YC Chau and I attended HKTDC Entrepreneur Day in HKCEC on 5^th Dec 2025.

I took a photo in front of the Hong Kong Innovation Pavilion.

Then we went to the CityU HKTECH 300 booth.

After that YC and I visited PolyImpact booths of PolyU.

We saw the booth of Intelligent Driving Training and Evaluation System for Heavy-Duty Trucks.

Finally, I took a photo in front of robot dog in EMSD booth.

After the visit, I met my EngD Supervisor Dr. KS Chin and HKSQ exco member Mr. SW Lam in my office.

Then we had tea in U Garden.

Lastly, YC joined us and meet Dr. Chin’s ISE friends and they are Ir. Albert Choi and Prof. CY Tang.

YC and I went to CityUHK Dongguan and Dr. Chin and Mr. SW Lam joined the PIE 45-year anniversary dinner.

CityUHK (Dongguan) SYE2066 Guest Talk i4.0 & Startup

Dr. Vincent Fung was our industrial guest speaker in the class of SYE 2066 “Professional Engineering Practice”. Dr. Fung’s lecture entitled “Innovation and Technology in Engineering & Industry Transformation” was held on 29^th Nov 2025.

In the beginning, Dr. Vincent Fung introduced his background that he got EngD in PolyU and Constant at HKSTP, Chief Technology Advisor at QP Group, Deputy Chairman & Executive Director in Kin Yat Holdings Ltd. He had 40 years expertise in product design, mold design, NPI, production process and marketing in the manufacturing industry in HK, Mainland China, Asian countries, US and Canada. Then he briefed the transformation journey from the traditional manufacturing to i4.0.

And then he introduced his company old products including toys and home appliances.

After that he mentioned the motivation for transformation and voice of customers.

One of his proudest products is the robotic vacuum cleaner.

He also stated that they invited quality expert Prof. Fugee Tsung (also exco member of HKSQ) to provide six sigma and lean training to their company engineers.

Finally, he shared smart manufacturing for the toy “Jenga”. Using AI for inspection enhanced the accuracy and efficiency.

In the second part, Dr. Vincent Fung introduced Startup and briefed the ABC concepts including Auto, Build and Cell.

He also shared to students about I&T life cycle and double valley of death.

Then Dr. Fung briefed the evolution of smart baby product.

Lastly, I on behalf of SYE Dept and CityUHKDG presented the appreciated certificate to Dr. Vincent Fung.

Yesterday morning, Vincent and I had breakfast in CityUHK and took a shuttle to go to CityUHKDG. (Remark: Following the devastating fire in Tai Po, CityUHK lowered its flag to half-mast.)

When we arranged CityUHKDG, we took a photo with Prof. Ron Kwok and Prof. Alan Chan.

When we visited the campus, we meeting the book fair and selected some books for students.

After that we enjoyed the coffee in the Kcoffee.

Finally, we visited the library.

Dr. Vincent Fung took a smart photo inside the library!

In the evening, I visited Vincent’s home in Dongguau.

We arrived his apartment.

ACP Meeting for IT System in Tai Po

We had originally planned to hold an ACP meeting on November 27, 2025, to continue pushing forward IT system development. However, a serious fire broke out yesterday at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, classified as a level 5 fire. Most of the victims needed to move outside their residences, and many of them were elderly. ACP were required by Government in this morning to support medicine to the victims. That we changed meeting place in Tai Po. After our meeting, Mr. Peter Suen and Ms. Wendy Mui returned to the Wang Fuk Court and elderly rescue station to support their medicine need.

ACP in Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit

ActiveCarePharmacy Limited (ACP) participated in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (樂齡科技博覽暨高峰會2025) from 20^th to 23^rd Nov 2025. I visit the Expo for supporting ACP on 21^st Nov 2025.

Firstly, I visited the ACP booth and took a photo with Ms. Wendy Mui and staff of ACP.

They promoted their service on coming Community Pharmacy (社區藥房) policy.

Mr. Matthew Tsui visited the booth in the first day afternoon. Mr. Peter Suen and Ms. Wendy Mui were there.

Wendy is very busy for explaining their service to visitors.

Then I visited the booth of HKSTP and took a photo for memory.

After that I visited EMSD and they had technology for employing in elder care.

I tried out their VR puzzle game.

I took a photo in front of the PolyU’s research for smart ageing.

Many services related to the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). One of my EngD cohorts is advisor of Hong Kong Society for the Aged (SAGE).

Lastly, I observed a humanoid and companion robots. When I took a photo with the robot, it responded with various poses!
