I Ching Advanced Class II Graduation Trip (易經高班II畢業之旅)

Advanced class II for I Ching (易經高班) was completed on 4^th Apr 2024. We had joined the graduation trip from 8^th to 15^th Jun 2024. Minda and I arrived airport and met I Ching classmates. 

Since we arrived early, we visited the Skydeck except Partick Lui and Unix. They went to the VIP room. Ms. Su (“So Easy”) went to the hotel from the mainland.

We took a group photo before boarding the plane. Kinsen Leung brought the I Ching (易經) folding fan and Karen brought the Chinese folding fan with the word “法財侶地” indicating Right Method, Sufficient Money, Good Friends and Platform/Place.

We arrived Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (成都天府國際機場). After landing, Minda and I took photo with the small plane.

Then we got on the travel bus and went to the MUSTEL hotel. 

It is a nice room!

Day 1: Sanxingdui Ancient Ruins (三星堆古遺址) (9 Jun 2024)

First day we visited Sanxingdui Ancient Ruins (三星堆古遺址). With a history of 3,000 to 5,000 years ago, it is the largest, longest-lasting, and ancient Shu cultural site discovered in southwest China. It was also known as the "Source of the Yangtze River Civilization."

The design of the museum is great!

Minda and So Easy watched the bronze mask.

There are many Sanxingdui bronze masks.

Minda and I took a photo with a nearly four-metre-tall bronze tree.

We leave through the spiral walkway.

One of the souvenir shops is located outside the museum.

When we left, the tour guide took a group photo for us.

Finished the visit, we went to the JI Hotel Leshan (樂山全季酒店).

We saw a food delivery robot that could take an elevator to different floors.

Hotel room is large!

We had a great lunch and dinner on the first day.

Day 2: Leshan Giant Buddha (樂山大佛) and Huanglongxi Town (黃龍溪古鎮) (10 Jun 2024)

Minda and I took a photo in the entry to the Leshan Giant Buddha.

I took a selfie while waiting in line.

Seven flowers took a photo in front of the Lingyun Temple (凌雲寺).

Minda and I took a close-up shot of the Griant Buddha.

The legs of the Buddha are under maintenance.

We took with Ms. Su (蘇醫師 “So Easy”). 

As we left, we saw the I Ching Cave.

I also brought some Giant Buddha souvenirs in the shop.

Afterwards we arrived at the ferry terminal and took a group photo while waiting for the tour guide to buy tickets.

We observed Giant Buddha by ferry.

We also took a group photo with Buddha and China flag.

The second location is Huanglongxi Town. So Easy, Rachel and Minda took a photo in front of the archway.

Many children play with water guns!

Minda and I came to Dongzhai Gate (東寨門), which is Kongming Tower (孔明樓).

Acquired Gossip (後天八卦) was drawn in the floor!

The hotel room is also very big! I like big paintings.

Before dinner, we tried the Xinjiang lamb kebabs (新疆烤羊肉串). (Note: Little Partick’s favorite)

We had happy lunch and dinner in day 2. 

Day 3: Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center Dujiangyan Breeding Yefang Research Center (中國大熊貓保護研究中心都江堰基地又名熊貓樂園) (11 Jun 2024)

In the morning, we went outside and took a photo for memory.

And then Minda and I had local breakfast. 

After that we arrived the Panda Paradise (熊貓樂園).

We all took a guided tour to see pandas. Minda, I and Don set in the last row.

Another one rest.

We took a photo of two pandas climbing up a tree.

The next location is Dujiangyan (都江堰).

We walked across the suspension bridge.

And then Mind and I took a photo with the “fish mouth”.

It is so hot and we enjoyed snow strips and took a photo in front of the river diversion design island.

The fountain showed the design of river bottom.

The Chinese bacon here is very famous!

The last location is the earthquake ruins Xuankou Middle School. (四川汶川特大地震漩口中學遺址)

The guide is Wenchuan earthquake survivor and she appreciated our support during the earthquake and mentioned some hero stories such as a teacher died for saving 45 students.

The elementary school collapsed into rubble.

Earthquake ruins become patriotic education base.

Our lunch and dinner photos. Restaurant for dinner closed to our hotel.

We saw two alpacas (羊駝) and it was $10 to take a photo with them.

Day 4: Bipenggou (畢棚溝) and Taoping Qiang Village (桃坪羌寨) (12 Jun 2024)

We arrived the Bipenggou and took a bus to go to the hotel for lunch.

Very good lunch with little spice food.

We took a photo in the lake.

And walked along the lake side.

The road reached the center of the lake.

We took a photo back-to-back.

A squirrel climbed onto So Easy's leg.

After that we went to the Taoping Qiang Village.

Lastly, we watched the face-changing drama in Chengdu, Sichuan

There are a lot of different shows put together. To our surprise, the face changing was not only in the traditional style, but also Spider-Man and Doraemon (多啦A夢).

Our seat location is very good, in the row in front of the VIP seats.

The film recorded the process of three masks changing faces together.

After the show, we had a hotpot dinner.

Day 5: Chengdu People’s Park (成都人民公園), Du Fu Thatched Cottage (杜甫草堂) and Shuyanfu (蜀宴賦) (13 Jun 2024)

In the beginning, Kinsen changed cloth to become Fun King and took photos with beautiful women, and then went to Chengdu People's Park to drink tea.

Chinese sugar paintings were found in the park.

We also took a group photo in the park.

Order Kung Fu tea and have a Kung Fu show.

Kinsen met the kung fu lady and saluted us.

We took a group photo before left.

And then we accompany the king on a blind date.

Pink represents girls and white represents boys. They introduced themselves and showed their situation. However, most contact is from their parents.

The second location is Du Fu Thatched Cottage (杜甫草堂).

We visited Du Fu’s Cottage and took a photo with Matthew and Partick family.

Afterwards we had tea and enjoyed the surroundings.

The final program is Shuyanfu (蜀宴賦) and all of us wearing a costume shirt and skirt.

Minda and I wore Chinese-style shirts and skirts that we had worn when we got married in Australia about 18 years ago.

The food is very delicious.

The shows are starting.

I also took a photo with a beautiful girl in costume.

During the performance, the actors would walk around us.

We all enjoyed both the performance and foods.

The video showed a part of performance.

We took a group photo with Kinsen (Fun君).

Lastly, we also took a photo that I write calligraphy and my wife polishes the ink.

Fun君was punished by his concubines (妃子們)!

Then we took a group photo before left.

Day 6: Free Travel to Sichuan Museum (四川博物院), Sichuan University (四川大學) and Luxelakes Property Viewing (麓湖看樓) (14 Jun 2024)

In the morning, we all arrived the Sichuan Museum.

We can see some ancient Sichuan cultural relics.

Four famous poets of the Tang Dynasty

Celadon-glazed figurines (青釉俑) were here.

Double sided embroidery (雙面繡) was saw that one side is dog and the other side is cat!

Then we enjoyed the Sichuan style lunch.

Rachel, Pauline and Minda took a photo inside the restaurant for memory.

Part of team selected to go to Sichuan University (四川大學) and took a group photo in front of the entry. Sichuan University is top university for the project-985 and project-211 (Double First Class). 

We visited Sichuan University by university tour bus. ($10 per head) and met two students from Shandong (山東). 

Some buildings we saw such as Innovation Center for Science and technology.

College of Finance and Management.

Then we went to the souvenir shop for shopping.

Our team booked the whole tour bus.

Finally, we took a group photo with the graduates in front of the statue of Chairman Mao.

The last location was property viewing in Luxelakes.

Many architectural models are displayed in the exhibition hall.

We then went to the pier.

The architectural design is very advanced.

Very large living room, semi-open kitchen bar and large balcony

Two beautiful flowers were observed!

First time taking a boat tour for property viewing! 

We had dinner at Luxexuan Restaurant (麗軒), a very high quality buffet with personal service.

Lastly, Minda and I took a walk near the hotel, and the other members went drinking that night.

Day 7: Free Travel to Wenshu Yuan Monastery (文殊院)

Wenshu Yuan Monastery is the most complete Buddhist temple in Chengdu. Part of teammates selected to visit it in this morning.

Minda and I went into the library named the Manjushri Hall (文殊閣).

Wenshu Monastery is the most complete preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu.

The second floor showed the Buddhist.

I like this poem that “Going backward is actually moving forward.” (退步原來是向前)

Finally, I got the tofu pudding!

Then we went to the airport and took a photo in front of the Tianfu Xiang (天府巷).

We had lunch at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (成都天府國際機場) but there was very little choice.

We got on the plane and prepared to return to Hong Kong, but it was delayed by two hours.

At the end, we took a group photo and then dismissed. We had a very pleasant trip, and we are very grateful to I Ching classmate for the arrangement. The coming Advanced Class III of “I Ching” will start on 6 July 2024.
