The 8th
World Summit of Chinese Quality (全球華人品質峰會) was organized by Singapore
Quality Institute (SQI) (新加坡质量学院) and pre-World Alliance for
Chinese Quality (pre-WACQ - 全球华人品质联盟（筹）) on 21st Sep 2023.
The theme was “People-oriented,
Advancing with the Times, Artificial Intelligence and Quality Assurance”「以人为本，与时俱进，人工智能与品质保证」. The technical visits were arranged to NEWater Visitor
Centre and MP Biomedicals on 22nd Sep 2023. We were waiting bus in
the hotel lobby.
We
took a photo with Ms. Wang Lin (王琳) and
Ms. Wang Shengqi (王圣淇) for memory.
In the bus, Mr. Johnson Tan Swan San (Chairman, SQI) introduced
the visit schedule.
We arrived the NEWater Visitor Centre.
The representative of NEWater introduced the centre to
us.
Firstly, we watched the introductory video.
Then we went inside the centre and played some education
game.
After that the representative explained the plant and
technology for water purification. They employed Microfiltration/Ultrafiltration
which is effective in removing particles, bacteria, Cryptosporidium and
Giardia. Their ZeeWeed 500 module used hollow fiber membrane which made of PVDF
and pore size of 0.04um.
Representative presented Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane
elements that are spiral wound. In the RO process, water molecules pass through
the membrane but larger molecules don’t. The effective size of a single pore in
RO membrane is about 0.0004um.
Finally, we took a group photo before exist of the
centre.
Then we had lunch in traditional restaurant.
After that we had a short visit to Nanyang Technological
University.
Mr. Johnson Tan is alumni of NTU in chemistry. He
explained the campus to us.
We visited the Chinese Heritage Centre (華裔館).
Minda and I walked inside the centre and took photo for memory.
The centre was built in Chinese style.
Finally, I took a photo with Prof. Wen-kuei Chen (陳文魁) and Mr.
Johnson Tan in front of the NTU which established since 1955.
Also took a photo with Mr. Lu Ruiyan (盧瑞彥) and Mrs. Lu for memory.
The third location of the visit was MP Biomedicals. In
the beginning, Anita introduced her company background.
The history of MP Biomedicals was briefed and it
established since 2003.
She introduced their innovation and services with
different products.
Production and QC was mentioned and then we would visit
the production line and QC laboratory.
We needed to wear protection cloth for dust and enter
into Cleanroom and Clean Area.
After the visit, Mr. Johnson Tan appreciated to the
company and he shared his previous experience in the company. He is original quality
manager 30 years ago.
Then Mr. Lu Ruiyan (盧瑞彥) shared
his experience on Incoming QC and Outgoing QC, as well as, giving some advices.
Mr. Johnson Tan presented the appreciated certificate to
Anita.
I also presented HKSQ 35th anniversary book to
her.
The technical visit of the 8th World Summit of
Chinese Quality was completed successfully. The representative of HKSQ, CAQ and
CSQ visit to SQI new office in that night.
Mr. GE Tan introduced the history of SQI and current
executive committee.
Minda and I took a photo inside SQI office. They are
partner of CQI and ASQ.
And also partner of ANQ and WACQ.
Mr. GE Tan also explained their activities.
Finally, Mr. Johnson Tan shared his experience to lead
SQI for new office and overcoming any difficulties in this period as well as
their courses strategies to us.
Lastly, we had dinner together. Minda and I would left on
Saturday and hadn’t joined SQI to go to Cold Coast Batam.
Some highlights (花絮) before
the summit. We went arrived HK airport on 20th Sep, we took a photo
of the sky bridge which connected between Terminal 1 (T1) and T1 Satellite
Concourse (T1S).
It was 200m-long and 20m-width footbridge equipped with
escalators and automated walkway.
The concern can view the whole view of airport.
We are first time to use gate 1!
When arrived Singapore airport, we took a photo with love
tree.
Arrived hotel, we met Mr. Liu Li Tsung (劉黎宗) (Past
President, CSQ) and Mrs. Liu.
We also visited the summit venue and met Mr. Johnson Tan
who is checking the readiness of the preparation for tomorrow summit. Very hardworking!
