Pre-National Quality Conference 2017 Visit in Dammam, Saudi Arabia

I was invited by Dr. Ayed Alamri (President of Saudi Quality Council) to be speaker in the 6^th National Quality Conference (NQC) which was organized by Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to meet the updates and enhances the quality culture through spreading the latest knowledge in this field.  Implementation of quality and its practices helps us to achieve the Saudi vision 2030 using the latest quality standards.  Before the conference, we arrived two days early for pre-NQC visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  We arrived the King Fadh International Airport (Airport of Dammam) and took a photo before went to the custom. 

Pre-NQC visit – Day 1 (26 Nov 2017)

A temple was opposite the entry of airport.

SASO drove us to hotel and we took a photo for the airport.

We seemed to across the Desert.

Arrived the Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Convention Centre

When we were inside the hotel, Mr. Yahya A. ALTayiar (Director General Services, SASO) was waiting us and arranged our accommodation.  

Then Mr. Khaled (SASO) and his friend Mr. Marwan (who is banker) led us to visit the beach.  

Mind and I took a photo for memory.  Before come here, we thought it was very hot but it was not hot actually.  

We saw the sun setting. 

After that we visited a mall to buy local traditional dressing.  

Minda brought an Abaya.

I also brought a Thobe and Qotra  for my coming presentation use.

Pre-NQC visit – Day 2 (27 Nov 2017)

On next day, Singapore team arrived and we visited the Al Morjan Island.  Minda and I took a photo in front of the tower.

In the coffee shop, we enjoyed coffee and ice-cream.

I took a short video to overview the island.

There had a pray area for prayers.  

We than went back to the car and visit to the opposite side named Oceana.

  

We saw different temple and building by the way.

We arrived and took a photo for memory.

We went back and saw a sculpture in the road.

I met Dr. Ayed Alamri (President of Saudi Quality Council) and Mr. Badr J. Al-shammary (Manager of IECEE department, SASO).

At night, we had a light dinner in KFC.  It was very interested that one area for men only and the other area for family.  We needed to stay in family area with privacy setting.  The lunch and dinner time in Saudi Arabia was at 3:00pm and 10:00pm.  Most shops opened in the morning until 12:00pm but it closed for pray and lunch until 4:00pm.
