ITC visit to Accredited Laboratories of the HKSTP

ITC with two guests (Mr. Liu Yang, Director, Adminstration Committee of Hengqin New Area, Zhuhai, Communication and Cooperation Bureau (劉揚先生, 交流合作局處長, 珠海橫琴新區管理委員會); Mr. He Jun, Deputy Director, Development and Planning Division, Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (何軍先生, 上海市科委發展計劃處副處長)) visited HKSTP Laboratories on 14 Nov 2012. In the beginning, I introduced the milestone of Certification and Accreditation in Technology Support Centre and the whole HKSTP. Our laboratories had obtained ISO 9001 since 2004. Then we extended our capability to achieve ISO/IEC 17025 (HOKLAS Accreditation) in three laboratories named IC Failure Analysis Laboratory (ICFAL), Material Analysis Laboratory (MAL) and Reliability Laboratory (RL). Then Mr. Allen Yueng (VP, BDTS, HKSTPC) exchanged idea of incubation program and investor platform with the guest.

Then we went to the ICFAL and MAL. In ICFAL and MAL, our laboratory manager briefed our equipment feature and its application such as Focus Ion Beam (FIB), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Scanning Acoustic Microscope (SAM), etc. After that we went to our IC Development and Support Centre.

Lastly, we visited Photovoltaic Testing Laboratory (PVTL) and our engineer introduced different types of equipment to the guest.

After visit the “Professor Charles K. Kao : Father of Fibre Optics” Showcase, we took a group photo under "Charles K. Kao Auditorium" (also known as the "Golden Egg").
