Welcoming Dinner for Professor Shu YAMADA

Ex-co members (Dr. Aaron Tong, Mr. C.P. Chow, Dr. K.S. Chin, Dr. Fugee Tsung, Ms. Minda Chiang and Mr. Lotto Lai), had welcoming dinner with Professor Yamada, on behalf of Hong Kong Society for Quality, at Wang Jia Sha (Chinese Cuisine - Shanghai), Shop 1068, Elements, Kowloon Station on 16 Feb 2009.

Dr. Shu Yamada is Professor of Quality Management at Graduate School of Business Sciences (GSBS), University of Tsukuba. His current assignment is the Dean of GSBS.


His research interests include promotion of Total Quality Management, development and application of statistical methods, in particular design of experiments, constructing quality and environment management system and so forth. Dr. Yamada has published more than 10 books, 50 reviewed papers and 100 articles.

Dr. Yamada and Dr. KS Chin visit Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) on 17 Feb 2009. I as a guide lead them to visit our different laboratories including Product Analysis Laboratory, Wireless Communication Test Laboratory, Reliability Laboratory, Probe and Test Centre and Biotech Support Laboratory, as well as, Solar Energy Technology Support Centre.


After then we visit “Golden Egg” auditorium which is a landmark of HKSTP

Finally, I present HKSQ souvenir to Dr. Yamada.
