Visit to Vitargent Laboratory for Demonstrating the Result of COMP Student's Capstone Project

I lead my student Mr. AU YEUNG Tsz Pui to visit the Vitargent’s laboratory on 8^th May 2026 after his capstone project presentation. His capstone project named “AI-powered system to automate the detection of developmental defects in zebrafish embryos”. We took a photo in the Vitargent Laboratory.

Then AU YEUNG Tsz Pui demonstrated the application program to classify the zebrafish embryos to Dr. Xueping Chen (Academic Advisor, COMP)

And then he installed the python and environment into Dr. Xueping Chen’s computer for her staff training use.

After that Minda and I invited Dr. Xueping Chen and my student to have lunch in Harbourview Grill (Inside Science Park) together.

I appreciated Dr. Xueping Chen gave an opportunity to my student and this project would be continued and enhanced for more effectiveness and efficiency.

PolyU Meeting with Prof. Gary Tang and Dr. Joe Lam about AI for TIC

Prof. Gary Tang and Dr. Joe Lam (ABCT Dept) invited me (COMP Dept) to discuss opportunities to add AI elements into their MSc or undergraduate course especially in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Industry. AI for TIC (AI4TIC) will be the future development direction. We had tea in block Y and took a photo for memory.

Finally, Joe will prepare proposal and then I will discuss it into the HKCTC Panel of Manpower Development.
